It's OK to experiment with the classics, especially in a small scale production such as this. Subsequent revivals are not going to end with ketchup flying at the end, but they might find a few good nuggets worth preserving. Like keeping in the song "Lonely Room" and humanizing Jud. I also like the idea of the chili and cornbread at intermission. Of course a major Broadway production would raise ticket prices $20 to cover the cost. No free lunch.

I wonder if Kelli O'Hara has seen or will see this. This musical was such an influence on her life growing up in Oklahoma. Not to see it might seem to be a snub. If she saw it, she might not like the changes.

Probably making to much of this. Kelli if she saw it and didn't likeit would still say that it was a very good production and praise everyone.

I know I never see any show until it gets the Kelli O'Hara Stamp of Approval!

I saw this last Wednesday evening, and it was about 65% full (less after intermission) so I do not know if this will last until January. Damon was out again, which was one of the main reasons I went, so bummed about that but everything else was incredible. The majority of the audience did not understand what was going on in the last scene and they thought the gun misfired ("Why is the blood on Curly!?!?), so there was some commotion. Then afterwards, the AARP got to stay for a talk with the cast.

Loved it, hope it lasts.
