has anyone got this cd? im considering buying it, and i wanted some opinions on it. thanks.
yeah, i've definitely been interested in getting this too. gotta love disney and GOTTA love kaitlin hopkins.
I preordered it at the show and it hasn't come yet... i'm looking forward too it though...I think the show was good enough to have the cd! Ashley Brown was AMAZING..and I think I saw Kaitlin Hopkins too as a understudy then for Emily Skinner..and she was good..had a little pitch problems but still very good
Yeah, I haven't got mine yet...but I noticed it has "A Change In Me", the new song added to Beauty and the Beast. Not sure were else you can find that song.
It's on Susan Egan's cd "So far..."
She wanted to sing it because she didn't get to sing it in the show..it's perty! lol

I don't think Kaitlin Hopkins was ever the understudy. I think she joined the cast when Emily left. I keep forgetting to snag my father's credit card to order it...
YOU'RE right..!!
sorry..i saw Meredith Inglesby and I was being nice when i thought it was Kaitlin Hopkins cuz she's got a lot of fans..
Meredith had TONS of pitch problems...i was like ICK!!
Stephanie ~ Does the song on Cd have the same orchestrations as it plays in the show?
I've never got to see the show (me being the disney freak I am...probably similar cuz i'm singing it for an audtion and the song sounds the same...OH except the beginning intro..instead of the main theme sort of thing it does a repeat of different chords...lol check www.Susanegan.com there might be a clip (although not of the beginning)

I have the recording. It is wonderful. The cast is wonderful, especially Ashley Brown. You obviously have to like Disney.
Still awaiting delivery on the pre-order.

So not fair Emily wasn't on the CD... it wasn't like she just did a run in one city and said au revoir... she was with it long enough to at least get archived in the damn thing.
~(A bitter) Daisy (...because she doesn't have a recording of Emily singing "Will the Sun Ever Shine Again?")

I agree. I enjoyed Emily's performance better.
The CD is definitely much better than the show -- you can 'fast forward' the CD -- and really the only highlights of the show in my opinion were Ashley Brown and Kaitlin Hopkins' voices and they certainly shine on the CD.

Apologies for being so after-the-fact on this thread, but I recently got the CD ("On the Record") and have been enjoying it. I love the multi-lingual "Be Our Guest" - OK, I know the French and German, but I'm guessing the other two are Japanese and Swedish, right? Also love the big treatment given "Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat" - how many people even remember that song? And I really enjoy the use of the quartet, esp. on "Bella Notte" and "Bells of Notre Dame." I would think anyone who is a long-time fan of Disney movie music would find something here to enjoy.
I have the recording, and I love it, but then again I am also a Disney freak. My favorite parts are the Little Mermaid songs. Ashley Brown is so great. She'd make for a good Ariel too, I think.
Ashley Brown's "A Change in Me" is unbelievable. I like the CD way more than the show (not saying much), but I don't think Kaitlin sounds her best.
I also enjoyed the cast album... I just didn't like the Higitus Figitus-Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo-Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious- "Hakuna" arrangement, but in general is a great selection of Disney songs.
I got mine in the mail like a week ago now...and it's good...i think seeing it live was much better though..some of the songs turned out emotionless on the cd...which sucks but they sound pretty still
Ashley brown's a change in me is great..but it's faster than it's supposed to be and she makes words shorter instead of holding them out *quarter notes instead of two whole notes* but it is gorgeous!
