Does anyone know anything around the status of the recording for this show? Did it actually get recorded? Do we feel it will ever see the light of day?

I don’t think so, at least not in the near future.
And honestly it’s a shame, because despite all the altered lyrics that made the material sound like Kidz Bop at times, there were some real highlights in this cast and in this score. The opening number, “Circus”, the angry “Scream & Shout / I Wanna Go” mashup, “Crazy”, and the spooky “Toxic” that gave the show a subversive edge I wasn’t expecting at all.
Also, I thought “Passenger” was the better ending, and I loved how it blended with “Stronger.”

Sadly I doubt we will ever get a cast recording and it is a crime we won't have "Toxic" recorded professionally. At least we have the music video of sorts for it to live on. The only chance I can see at some kind of recording would be if they are able to get it funded for a tour or licensed and want a recording to go with it to gain interest. Because the show will one day to great at a high school show. Really it's a perfect show for high schools. Large female focused ensemble with lots of strong solo options and really only need once strong male singer? That's most American high schools to a T.

Yeah it’s a real shame this one isn’t getting an album. Especially considering you can’t find most of the press appearances online anymore

I would have loved a cast album for this. Rather surprised we didn't get one.

I am so sad we've not gotten a cast album for this show and I hold out hope someday down the line we'll get one for the reasons Scarlet mentioned.
It was such a fun show and the arrangements and orchestrations were great.
The fact we don't have a professional recording of Aisha's 'From the Bottom of My Broken Heart" is a crime.
Thank god for unoficial recordings.

Per one of the producers, the cast recording had been planned but could not make it. He also confirmed they're trying to bring OUAOMT to the west end so he hopes for a London cast recording but nothing is confirmed yet.
