Trailer Park the Musical, that is. Campy casting. Anyone see Jenn Colella do it?

What has she been doing the past several years? I always hear people suggesting her on message boards for projects, but she doesn't seem to work very often. What gives?
you JUST beat me to it. LOL

Michael Bennett, it seems she's done off-Broadway and regional. Us folks out here in the sticks take offense to New Yorkers who think if someone's not ON Broadway, they don't exist!
What has she done regionally? It just seems odd to me that she hasn't been on Broadway since SNF, which was years ago.

Can we hear her on any recordings? I've always wanted to hear her sing.
Love, Janis off-Broadway... Me and Mrs. Jones in Philly... TV stuff. Sure, she should have been on Broadway non-stop, but she seems to work at least. Not everyone wants to just do Broadway. Maybe she's been recording?
Maybe not everybody wants to do Broadway, but everyone wants to have a paycheck. I can't imagine she earned major money doing regional theatre and tiny roles on tv. I just find it interesting how little she works for how often she's hyped...
Orfeh is on the Actor's fund DREAMGIRLS & HAIR recordings. You can also hear her on the "Elegies for Angels, Punks & Raging Queens" CD (Track 2, "I'm Holding on To You"). And if you're really curious you could look on e-bay for a copy of Or-N-More.

Hopefully Al Dente knows about this.

Thanks!
I go to a meeting for an hour and I miss everything. First of all, congratulations to Orfeh. It's about time she does something new. I just hope it's worthy of her talents. I will say, the show practically got love letters while still in the festival, so I am hopeful.
Michael, I'm starting to think you have an issue with Orfeh. You say this on every thread that's about her and people give you really lucid, legitimate answers and yet, you're at it again. So one more time, she has an extremely lucrative voice over career which effortlessly affords her the luxury of being selective. Michael, do you know how much an actor gets paid for one of those *tiny little T.V. roles"? I do and it's a heck of a "tiny amount". I can only imagine what you would be saying if she had, in fact, taken the role in Urban Cowboy that she did indeed, turn down. Than you would be maligning her for that.
I find it interesting that board favorite Murney takes her first B'way bow pushing 40, and everyone thinks she's the genuis who dropped out of DOTV, or Menzel doesn't originate a Broadway role for almost five years bt. RENT and Wicked and that's overlooked as well, but you want to know "what gives" with Orfeh. I think, she's the genius who knows what to say no to.
Congratulations to Orfeh again. Too bad this otherwise great thread had to turn into this.
Al -- I've never commented on Orfeh before. I have nothing against her. Indeed I have no opinion of her at all, because I've never seen her in anything.
I distinctly remember this same conversation and Ruprect talking about the Urban Cowboy thing. I don't think the woman needs anyone to defend her on a message board she most likely, doesn't even read, but this is for all the board members that seem to think that if an actor is not on Broadway, they're somewhere starving in the projects.
I'm with you, Bennett. Orfeh is ALWAYS talked about and ALWAYs mentioned for things - yet I can't name one thing she's done - other than the pathetic SNF. I don't get it.
Al Dente - Chill out.
This coming from the most UN-chill board member, Munk. Michael and I are not argueing Munk, we're conversing. Big difference.
Sorry Al, I wasn't a part of that conversation. And I'm happy to know that she has a successful voice over career. If I didn't know that Julia Murney did as well, I'd be asking the same question about her. It's merely an observation/question on how a performer gains a popular fan base without much of a visible resume.
Al, you just get so defensive about the dumbest things.
I'm still wondering the same thing, Michael. I've always wondered that - yet no one can answer it for me.
Well, Orfeh WAS brilliant in SNF. Maybe that's enough to warrant buzz?
And Love, Janis? Could it be those things?

Wow.
I'll double that WOW and add that I'm a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge fan of Orfeh's

Oh! I loved Orfeh's song in "Temptation, the Movie!"
Well, I'm excited. First the news yesterday of Orfeh's husband getting cast in his new show (http://www.broadway.com/Gen/Buzz_Story.aspx?ci=514603), and now word that Orfeh's coming to Dodgers? Very exciting. I haven't seen Orfeh perform since I saw SNF a few years back, so it'll be nice to get the chance to see her in something new. Lord knows I'm down at Dodgers enough as is for the Altar Boyz - might as well change it up a bit and see Great American Trailer Park.
