Besides Roger Rees, Rachel Potter who previously understudied Glinda on a tour of Wicked will be replacing Krysta Rodriguez as Wednesday. She announced it on Twitter, Facebook, etc. Here's a video of her singing Defying Gravity:

When she first announced it, she only said, "I'm taking over the role of Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family on Broadway!! "

Tommy Berklund also replaced Barrett Martin as an Ancestor and Lurch u/s.
Mo Brady replaced Clark Johnsen as an Ancestor and Lucas u/s.
Lisa Karlin replaced Alena Watters.
Cortney Wolfson replaced Morgan James, but she's only u/s for Wednesday since Becca Ayers is covering Alice. I think Cortney's already gone on, but can anyone confirm?

Posted: 1/26/11 at 6:04pmWell if she is the main reason you want to see it then I think you answered your own question. I saw it and it was horrible it was just... not good. Bu t she was great, the whole cast did the best they could do with the material they were given.

I saw Merwin Ford on for Nathan Lane- the show was so tailored to Lane that someone who is nothing like him, like Merwin Ford is totally lost in the part. What made it worse was that the entire cast attempted to compensate for Lane's absense making an already shaky show seem so flat and lifeless that I actually pitched a fit at intermission and got my money back. This was the week before Lane was supposed to be on vacation and was
"sick" again. When the House manager had the nerve to tell me that Mr. Lane never misses a performance I had a slight outburst and pointed to one of the people with me that evening and informed him that it took him 3 times to finally see him in The Producers.
I have seen other understudies in large roles who were wonderful, but this show and that part was totally created with Nathan Lane and only Nathan Lane in mind.
I would not be one bit surprised if some direction is changed to allow Mr. Ree's to make the part his own, an opportunity that an understudy or stand-by in poor Merwins case, is never afforded.
I did however see him on for Terrance Mann and I must say that I actually like him as Mel better.
