Well Princeton, considering that neither Coram Boy nor Radio Golf has opened yet, I am going to assume that Legally Blonde was snubbed...which is a shame. Mary Poppins should not have gotten a nomination.
LoveMusik began previews AFTER Legally Blonde so, I take it the committee simply preferred LoveMusik

Ebersole and Grey Gardens won LAST year, so they weren't eligible this year.
And man, they must have really hated Legally Blonde.

Ebersole won last year; she's ineligible this year for this award.
I'd like to be the first to say, I'm pleased for Ashley. I think a lot of people write off her contribution to that show. But her talent can't be denied.
I'm shocked SA's lighting was forgotten, too--but they combine plays and musicals, Broadway and Off. And Mary Poppins had a TON of practical lighting and that whole number at the end where the starlighters light up the whole place.

Overall, I must say that I am happy with the nominations. I'm glad Mary Poppins was recognized here because based on all the discussions on these boards, it will not be recognized too much at the Tony Awards. If I had to nominate either LoveMusik or Legally Blonde, I would also choose LoveMusik.
"I'm a little shocked that Brown was nominated over Monk."
Well it seems that they didn't stick to closely to the "above the title" rules like the Tonys do because Jennifer Ehle got nominated as leading. That being said, I am more surprised that CHARLOTTE D'AMBOISE was nominated as featured over Monk, who it seem would have fit better there with these nominations.
