Absolutely. You’ll have full view of all of Act 3 that literally takes place entirely on the right side of the stage.

I'm thinking primarily of The Odd Couple, Barefoot In the Park and the pretty much forgotten Biloxi Blues (with Mathew Broderick doing basic training and Christopher Walken as his drill sergeant) which was quite funny. If Plaza Suite is a big success, as it appears it will be, I would hope Sarah Jessica Parker and husband would return next season in a Simon play vastly more suitable to them: The Gingerbread Lady. It was always a problem play (and a sporadically good movie titled Only When I Laugh) which today would make it even more interesting - and challenging to do. It was sort of about a semi-recovering alcoholic Judy Garland type actress and her supportive daughter - Liza! and ultimately a tribute to her. It was filled with great meaty lines that I think Sarah could hit out of the park and Mathew would be even more perfect as her depressive failed actor best friend. The Gingerbread Lady, next season, I'm hoping."
Although not originally a play, another Simon movie that is still remarkably funny is the original OUT-OF-TOWNERS. It is so specifically about New York City in 1970 that of course it's dated...but still hilarious. And Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis are peerless. As are Redford and Fonda in Barefoot in the Park.

LOLOLOL... Today was 1st time ever at B'way show where I started to nod off during 1st act.
I'm sorry. I like Sarah/Matt, but I thought they were miscast. Feel free to disagree. I kept hoping Walt Mathau's ghost would appear to save the first act. His facial expressions & voice intonations made him own the role.
IMO, somehow the wife needed a comedian instead of a beaten-down victim. I kept hoping Sarah would pick up the roast beef plate & toss it. Matt comes across as a whiner (much like Producers) than a hard-cold dirtbag cheater. I've seen Matt in Sylvia, It's Only a Play, Producers and I like him, but he's not convincing as a cheat. Too nerdy.
I wondered if Annaleigh Ashford would've been more convincing as a "wife" more ticked off after setting up their anniversary vacay. Unsure what other actresses would've worked.
Apparently, I'm not alone. As I was leaving after 1st act, theater staff assured me the second half was "much better" and that other patrons were not "happy that it wasn't updated to today's norms."
The last time I left a show after 1st act was at the Front Page b/c the cig smoke drifting into front rows. Went back again with a seat further, back I felt bad today. I tried. I really did.
Thank you Dollypop. I like Matt, but I shuffled out wondering what I or the show did wrong!!!
I saw this last night and was really surprised at how much I enjoyed it! The first act will always be the strongest I think with the third act right behind it. The second is very “meh” for me but this is the first time in decades maybe that I’ve seen Broderick actually enjoy himself onstage. He even made me laugh which is something I never thought I’d say.
The evening does belong to SJP though who was just delightful, start to finish. Ive had these tickets and switched these dates so many times in over two years that I couldn’t believe I was actually finally there and for me, it was well worth the wait.

And that, my friends, is a long-awaited (and very well-written) Jordan Catalano Seal of Approval™.
Now that I think of it, I wish they would have gone “bigger” for the third act. But overall it was still much better than the second.

I never thought I’d live long enough to read Jordan Catalano say something good about Broderick!! Haha. Glad you enjoyed the show and I’m anxiously waiting for April to see it. Seems like 10 years ago when I bought the tickets.

So, I can only afford the $79 balcony seats or the $99 partial view seats on Orchestra and Dress Circle. I gathered some options like these:
Orch - M 9/12 (L) or M 10/12 (R) for $99
Dress C - J4 (R) for $99
Balcony - Last two rows center or D9 (L) for $79
Whats the best for view? Should I avoid sides? If I have to pick a side, which one is better?

I did partial view orchestra row P 9 and 11. All I missed was the act entrances (first 5-10 seconds of each act) but I saw the rest of the play in full. Highly recommend house left (odd # seats.)
Act 3 takes place primarily hours right and if you were seated there I think you’d miss a lot. I can’t speak for the rest of the house but I hope that helps you some. The show is a lot of fun - enjoy!

Thanks! Will look for these deats on the available dates I have.
If anyone saw at the Balcony and has a response, would Love to hear
I had never seen any incarnation of this play, but, as a child of the 70’s, I adored it, and it was a joy seeing the two of them together. I thought it was a nostalgic confection.
Also, this is the second time I’ve sat there, and I can't recommend the front row center of the balcony highly enough. For the lower price, the view is fantastic.

What a nice evening at the theater! SJP stole the show in my opinion. I like how the acts got progressively funnier throughout the night. Even during Act 1, which is supposed to be serious/dramatic, I found myself laughing a lot. Broderick was okay - I would be curious to see someone else play his role though.
For people asking about seating location - I would highly recommend the balcony center or stage left. The balcony in this theater is very steep so absolutely no heads in the way to block the view (and I’m 5’1” so generally every show I’m blocked and I usually use one of the kids seat cushions to see haha). Would definitely avoid anything to the extreme right as you won’t be able to see much of Act 3.

I quite liked the play, would love see Act 1 and Act 3 without Act 2, they make a good parallel about marriage as a instituiton. The set is glamorous, detailed and transport us to that moment.
I thought Broderick was ok in Act 1, but very good in 2 and 3. But Sarah Jessica Parker is the star here, she even has a restrained body in Act 1, but goes full physical comedy later, and such a charismatic performer. Loved her! Hope she gets, at least, the Tony nom
