The cast and others involved in the show have been telling fans there IS going to be one, but here is a link for those who wanted something more official.

When I saw the show on March 11, someone at the consessions stand asked the guy behind the counter about a cast recording.

Why bother recording it? Just play your old LPs of LES MIS backwards and you'll have it. Loud, obnoxious, and more than vaguely familiar.
Yes but I can't wait to hear the revival's new orchestrations!

Freaking High Fidelity got a cast recording, so I had no doubt that this one would happen.
Very good news for those of us who enjoy the show and don't feel the need to constantly bash it.
I am very very pleased.
I only hope the recording is as full as possible.
a mere highlights recording for a B&S sung-through musical, is simply not enough IMO.
When I was there, the people at the souvenir stand said they would be GETTING the cd to sell in mid-April...I almost said "DIRTY LIARS" to them...
either the souvenir people are dumb as stones or they were told to tell people that....
I'm very happy that this is happening, and we can only hope that it will be a complete recording. I agree that highlights of Boublil and Schonberg just aren't enough.

Agreed. I'm very excited. I was hoping this would be announced soon. I was worried that another few days would land a Pirate Queen recording into the "no chance in hell" catagory.
still waiting on Legally Blonde and Curtains, though...
I knew there was going to be one. I just knew that like most shows that they would wait till opening night to pass before they announced anything offical.
Complete recording pls! Chalk me up as another one who actually liked the show, and I'm sure I'd actually be able to remember some of the numbers if I heard them a few more times. Plus, y'know, it'd be REALLY nice to stop singing 'Boys Will Be Boys' to the tune of 'Master Of The House'. (Kidding, I can tell them apart really!
)
Yay! I'm excited.
I vote for a full recording as well, please.
Great ! Im definitely buying it comes out- pls keep us updated- Thanks-jaystarr ( Im a "PQ" covert fan here )

I'm going May 20th, and was hoping it'd be available by then, because my family loves to drive home with CD in player after we see a show. Doubt it will be though if they record in late April. Oh well! Just glad it's going to happen!
I think my Martin Guerre mp3s are starting to wear out anyway (best orchestrations everrrrr).
Glad to hear. I hated the show, but with a recording I will be able to truly hear why I thought the score wasn't up to par...
Or, maybe, I'll learn to love it. LOL!!! (It's happened before--not with their scores, though!)
Good. I'll be buying it.
HOORAY! I was afraid that this wan't going to happen...

let's just hope the producers don't pull a lestat on this recording and it's released without any complications.....
Exciting! I hope it's a full recording.

I hope it's a full recording too.
I just hope it doesn't suffer the same fate as the Lestat cast recording.
^ it wasn't funny the first time and it wasn't funny thirteen minutes later...
I think he was serious.

At least I'll be able to get a good night's sleep!
I had no doubt this wouldn't happen. Now it's all in who is going to lose money by putting it out! :) hmmmm
