I don't believe there are any eligible lead actresses in Leopoldstadt. Pretty sure all of those roles are considered featured.

Even if there were, the point is that NO ONE has a chance. I agree with Jordan that it'll be as if she's running uncontested.

Criminal defense attorney here, we pronounce this differently in the states than in the UK. Most people that I know here say "fay-shuh," and they say fay-see or fay-shee. It catches me off guard every time. Looking forward to seeing this next month, though. I'm generally skeptical of legal plays but the pedigree of this seems phenomenal so it was a must add for my next NYC trip."
In the pre-show announcement they say “Prime-uh Fay-see” so I think that is the show’s preferred pronunciation! But yea it does seem to be a phrase with many pronunciations depending on who you ask. I myself have been saying “Preema Fosse” which was obviously wildly incorrect haha
Oh, the pronunciation of prima facie brings back a horrific experience in law school.
My first year, and one of my classes was torts, taught by a professor who specialized in the Socratic method, asking questions of the students to probe their thinking process.
I was called on to discuss the facts of a certain case and I said, "The judge said the plaintiff has a prima facie case... " which I pronounced "pree-ma fay-chee," Italian style, I guess.
Bam, he called me out with the loudest voice possible and said it was pronounced "prime-uh fay-shuh." And why didn't I check on that before coming to class. I'm lucky I didn't get marked down for a constructive absence.

I'm also part of the chorus of lawyers who are now having a minor crisis about the correct way to pronounce "prima facie" because of this play...
We saw it last night - Extraordinary - WOW - Riveting! Comer will WIN the Tony this year. Play will also be nominated! Truly one of the best acting performances I have ever seen! Don't miss it.
Holding Court: Jodie Comer Heads to Broadway in Prima Facie

Tour de Force performances make Broadway and live theater that much more special and something to cherish. Because you are there, with the actor, in an indescribable inward journey.
I don't get to Broadway as much as I used to and when someone's acting blows me away it's the most intense, enormous high. The last time I experienced this was with Bryan Cranston in All the Way and again in Network. I was left stunned, mesmerized, barely able to murmur "wow," while floating out of the theater. And then there was Tracy Letts in Woolf... wow, WOW.
Looking forward to seeing Prima Facie next week with my daughter, my longtime partner in theater crime. I've seen the televised play, she hasn't. I'm bringing tissues.

At last night's show, as we entered the Golden an usher said, "Ticket holders for Prime-uh Fosse only!"
I knew there was music, but the dance part surprised me.

I don’t think I’ve seen anything more moving, triggering, emotional, and motivating in one show! WOW JUST WOW! Jodie Comer delivers such a masterclass performance! I don’t know how ANY actor can portray character as traumatized as Tess! My god! I do not think there was a dry eye in the audience this afternoon! The book by Suzie Miller is just outstanding and raw! Combined with the music of Self Esteem and the direction of Justin Martin, this show will have you on the edge of your seat! I was so hooked that I had forgotten about how long this show was. Before you knew it, it was over! Towards the end, I like how they brought up the house lights, just slightly, so Jodie could acknowledge the audience and address them with an important message that Change MUST HAPPEN! That got a roaring but quick applause reaction! I wish it was running longer than 10 weeks but we can’t have it all I guess. For now, people need to pile themselves into the Golden Theatre because this may be one of the best performances you will ever witness! I now can say that the Lead Actress in a Play is a SOLID lock for Comer! If I could give this show more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! Go see this show before it goes!

Saw this a few days ago and have to agree that Jodie Comer was astonishing/virtuosic and is going to walk away with the Tony. I did really like Chastain in A Doll's House but I'd be surprised if she wins over Comer.
I liked the play and music quite a bit as well.
The lifting of the house lights and the highlighting of the cases at the end while Comer breaks down were goosebump inducing.

I haven’t seen it yet and I’ve been calling it Preema Fach-ie. Guess I was way off LOL.
Saw this again last night, after just having seen it Tuesday, and Jodie Comer's performance really is one for the ages that is a must-see of the highest order. It's a perfect marriage of actor and role, and, once again, she's a lock to win the Tony. However, I still think she's better than the play itself, which gets a little too message-y for me at the end. Don't get me wrong, it's a important message, but it feels a bit to me like preaching to the choir. Jodie's towering performance and the direction/music sell it, but I don't find it completely satisfying, and I didn't come close to tears either time. I understand that personal experience factors into how hard the material hits, though, so I'm glad many are connecting with it that way.
After sitting in an orchestra lottery seat Tuesday, I sat in my original $31 aisle seat in the rear mezzanine, which, for the price, was a damn great view. I brought my binoculars, though, and watched about 3/4 of the show through them. If you're sitting up there, I recommend it. I saw strong shades of Emma Thompson in Jodie this time, which I greatly enjoyed.
My final assessment:
A 5-star performance in a 5-star production of a 4-star play

It has been a MINUTE since I've been on this forum but I had to come back after seeing PRIMA FACIE last night. I saw a screening of the West End production at my local theater last summer and made sure to get a ticket once it transferred and I'm so glad I did.
Jodie Comer was absolutely stellar ... her performance was heartbreaking, effortlessly switching between characters, accents, voices, emotions -- she was firing on ALL CYLINDERS. What a special actor. It's one thing to memorize all those lines, but it's another to make an audience feel them. Wasn't a dry eye in the house last night.
Bravo Jodie!

Now I want to see this when I come to NY next month but man the ticket prices are steep. Has anyone sat in the rear mezz at the golden? Looks like I can do row A for $135 but just curious how far back it is and if it’s too far for a one woman show

Rear mezz has been fine from my experience as far as sight goes, though as a tall person even aisle seats are pretty brutal towards the back.

I sat in row A in the rear mez and was completely fine. Plenty of legroom because of the rail curtain. Great seats!

Yikes missed that announcement. Thanks Taffy. I’ll have to squeeze another NYC trip in for this one before it closes.

As someone who teaches law, that is an outrageously obnoxious way to treat one's students!
