PRISCILLA To Take The Palace

It would be nice if they finally took down that damn Chicago marquee and gave the entire space back to The Palace.

Must see West Side Story Karen Olivo Natalie Cortez on stage again before it's too late.

Fixed that for you.

Kidding. Whatever floats your boat. She will be back next month.

Theater Fan Four... How funny is it that you were able to do that and the picture on the bottom of your Palace looks like it is from AIDA.
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

It's actually a picture of the London cast of PRISCILLA. Brilliant detail.

Maybe they will convert the star dressing rooms back to their Legally Blonde pink decor.

WOW, and I totally agree, even though some may think it is silly, I hate that the Palace has 3 billboards infront it, 2 of wich are for other shows, and of equal size.

I wish it would go back to how it was before with one large billboard for what is playing there. Im surethere are some confused tourists out there at one point or another, turning up at the palace to see chicago.

I also hate the broadway frontage of the MArquis theatre, even though they got a new side marquis.

Lol. The picture is actually from Priscilla & the base was WSS which is why all the reviews from it are still there just with a different background.

Could the Kylie Minogue medley be being replaced by a Madonna one?

This is what Jessica Phillips's Facebook says:
Jessica Phillips vintage Madonna, people. that's allz I'm sayin'

Madonna would make for a more recognisable medley than Kylie for North American audiences. I'm sure there was talk of changing to a Cher medley at one point too.

Loving your photoshopping work TheatreFan4!

Don't think this show will fare very well in new york without some major changes...

PRISCILLA To Take The Palace

According to a friend (well, acquaintance) of mine who is in the show in London, they are making a few changes. The London cast have been told what is happening in the Broadway one, but the changes wont be put into their one.

As mentioned already, all Kylie references are being replaced by Madonna, including the medley on top of the rock!

The opening is also apparently changing to Its Raining Men.

And he mentioned some more little details, but I cant remember! Arrrghhh. Will try find out!

If Toronto was a sit down then maybe it would look better.

When Lion King was there they changed their marquis about 3 times.

Although, if Mirvish was staging it in the Pantages, they could do the whole shoe thing right there on Younge street.

haha, it hasn't been called the Pantages Theatre since 2001. It is now the Canon Theatre.

Let's hope the Broadway marquee will look better than the one in Toronto at the Princess of Wales Theatre.

That looks just like my redone poster! I call copyright! lol.

I wouldn't worry, I bet the Palace marquee will look much better complete with the light up shoe.

I know, but to a Phantom fan like me it will always be the Pantages.

Is there any truth to the rumor that WSS is going to downsize and move into the New World Stages?

You are in for such a treat. Have seen Priscilla in Australia and in London (many times) - a brilliant night out and you will have the incredible Tony Sheldon PRISCILLA To Take The Palace) There aren't many actors I'd cross the atlantic for but I shall definitely be there to experience Priscilla and Tony on Broadway!

I am also concerned about how this will translate to American audiences - I don't know if tourists will be up for a story of a tranny/cross dressers traveling the country to see a child. I also don't know if the disco music will appeal to many here as it did to folk in London. I think of it as Mama Mia's really gay brother.

I would not be surprised if they change the setting to the US instead of Australia. That said, I LOVED this show - so much fun and so gutsy. I hope it is a success, especially since a close friend of mine is in it.
