Will I be able to catch any ping pong balls from the 8th row in the mezz or shoul I sit closer?
Well if they do it like in London, there'll be plenty of ping pong balls to catch. Otherwise you'll have to check out ebay. There's usually some on there
Jordan was right....

We knew this was coming into the Palace...hahahaha..for a while.
So maybe the title of this thread should be "Priscilla TAKES the Palace"
Even though I am anxiously looking forward to Priscilla, I wonder if the Palace is too big for this show. I am thinking like what happened to Legally Blonde for example.

^The Palace is big... but considerring it played a much larger theatre in London, I think we'll be fine...
Our Palace has 350 more seats than London's Palace.
They announced they're closing Jan. 2 tonight.
I can't wait for this! I will definitely be catching this one on my 2011 trip.
Why does everyone think the Palace in London is so big? I actually found it a very intimate theatre. And again, aside from the bus, and space needed for the costume, this show does not need a huge space to run. I could've easily seen in the Marquis or St. James.
The bus in London had to be shortened (due to the narrow proscenium arch and stage depth). I would imagine the full set (that was used in the original Australian production) will be restored for Broadway.
I think that the Palace in London seems to be big because from the outside it gives that impression. I agree though that inside it is quite intimate and the stage is quite small too.
Delighted that a theatre has been confirmed for the Broadway run - so it will be at the Palace in London and NY Now all we need is for tickets to go on sale. Am looking forward to my spring trip
Here's a first look at the star of Priscilla: a bus!

Cool, it's actually a smaller venue! I'll be swinging by London in November for a few days, and I thought about watching it there. March 2011 is just too far away! Hopefully I can cram it in somehow.
At the press conference on Wednesday it was mentioned that the authors have done a considerable amount of rewriting and that the show is now getting closer to the film. Not sure that this is necessarily a good thing.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

I posted over on the Westend Board that looking at the new 'Set List' that was posted through the rehersal photos here on Broadwayworld there is quite a few song changes from the London/Aussie Productions:
Act 1
Opening number is no longer 'Downtown' and is now 'Its Raining Men'
They've cut 'I've never been to me'
'Venus' has been replaced with 'Material Girl'
'Both Sides Now' has been replaced with 'True Colours'
Act 2
'Kylie Medley' has been replaced with 'Like a Virgin'
It makes sense for a US Audience to change the Kylie References to Madonna! Cant wait to come and see this next summer and finally get to see the wonderful Tony Sheldon reprise his outstanding performance!
Disappointing that they've cut "I've never been to me," which was in the movie.
Would have preferred "Downtown" to the overdone "It's raining men."
"Like a virgin," "Material girl," "True colors," those replacements don't seem any better than the songs they've replaced. Cliche. What, is this an episode of Glee? (which has done both "Like a virgin" and "True colors", no?)
I saw this in Sydney and thought it was ok. I can't imagine how it will do very well on Broadway. I think it will run just under a year. I am tempted to come over and see it though - just to see how audiences respond - and to visit NY again.
Word tonight from the invited dress in Toronto is that this cast and the show is amazing!
Well...INVITED dress is the key. Family, friends, producers. The invited dress of the Bye Bye Birdie revival thought it was brilliant, too.
(I don't know whether or not it is, but I'll wait to hear from "real" audiences.)
