I imagine there's also a bit of a partnership that has formed between James and Arti in doing the role together. I'm sure the understudies are good as well when they go on, but it seems like you'd have to be pretty in sync to be able to move/emote together and it just makes sense for them to both be brought over as a pair.

Arti and James spent 3 years developing the role of Paddington, for that very reason alone they deserve a shot at the Tony. Also Paddington is a very nuanced role and isn’t just putting a bear suit on, James and Arti would be great to bring on American actors for the role to take over.

Alison Luff announced she is leaving And Juliet on November 1st. Got me thinking she would be a wonderful Mrs. Brown!

If it’s not Jessie Mueller, Alison Luff is another great actress for this role.
