So someone on this board said Rob McClure is in it (as Mr. Brown? as Mr. Curry?), and now the sweaty one says Jen Simard will be Millicent... who else is rumored to be in this?

That feels all wrong to me. Role feels more appropriate for someone like Karen Ziemba (if they want to retain the dancing) or Victoria Clark or Nancy Opel.

Last I heard she's Gloria in Damn Yankees? But someone on here last week was also claiming Margherita as Millicent...so it may be that there's not a decision, or nobody actually knows anything :)

Any of these roles can be anybody, but Arti is an Olivier Award-winner and swapping her out would make her part of the role seem expendable. That wouldn't be fair to her, and let's be honest, not great in terms of optics.

What "optics" are you referring to? Other than a handful of people on Reddit and BWW message boards, no one has ever heard of her. The positive optics of hiring an American actor to wear a bear suit in a Broadway show would FAR outweigh any negativity from the fringe "superfans".

I think bringing Arti is important. One of the most moving parts of the London production, for me at least, was seeing the two people working together to execute a wonderful, theatrical magic trick get foot stomping, ear-splitting applause at their final bow. Outside of the costume. I thought it was beautiful. Paddington is a story about an immigrant, so I really loved that it was two actors of color behind the bear. They'd be silly to not recreate that in NYC.
