Oh, they definitely sound like a burlesque strip number!

That headdress is tragic. She looks like a bird who flew into a power line.

I thought it was Roger DeBris finally making it to the Choreographer’s Ball.

How do the actors keep straight faces when looking at that?
This whole thread is quite an education! Thanks for schooling me!

Going back to Tovah's production at The Papermill:
I was with several other Dollypops at a matinee ilof the show and all four of us were horrified at what we were witnessing--most notably the hip-hop choreography for "Sunday Clothes". During intermission one of the guys said, "What would Carol say about this?" Well, I just happened to have Carol's number on my phone and we called her right from our seats and described what we were seeing. Carol kept repeating, "I told her it wouldn't work,,,"

If I'm not mistaken, the choreography was by Mia Michaels, an odd choice for Hello, Dolly in my opinion.

Her choreography was definitely odd. The mortal sin of the production was when she had the waiters lift Dolly off her feet during the title number. Wrong, wrong, wrong! At that point in the story Dolly is filled with determination and knows exactly what she wants. Her feet should be firmly planted on the ground at that point.

The staircase to nowhere
I love that headdress !! Very Ziegfeld Follies-ish. Just a bit of fun.

If that was their intention, they’re a few decades off as HELLO, DOLLY! takes place in the 1890s and the Ziegfeld Follies didn’t even exist then.

Yeah, I know.
This looks worse then that Sally Strutters tour from about ten years ago.

Don't know who Sally STRUTTERS is, but I have enjoyed the clips I've seen of Sally STRUTHERS as "Dolly".
So, now we're bashing both Paige Davis AND Sally STRUTHERS ?
Both ladies aren’t being “bashed” - their productions are. Both Davis and Struthers are quite good it’s just the production designs of their HELLO, DOLLY! are not up-to-snuff. People are talking about terrible costume choices, etc. Not one post is trashing the actresses and their performances. Geez Louise.

Today's English teachers are really lax when it comes to teaching reading comprehension.
