When Grease was on HBO in the late 70s/early 80s I asked my mom what fongool meant. She was not happy.

I actually just had to look it up, because I didn't know it.
I feel...enlightened?
And I love that artwork for Grease. It's nice to see them in color, since I'd only previously seen them in Frenchie's Grease Scrapbook (Which I got as a 11th Birthday present, the year it came out. I was *so* excited.)
I love the artwork as well. They only used it briefly and then decided to go with the now classic shot of Olivia with her hand on John's shoulder shot, which honestly I don't really care for.
The completed art as seen in the advanced promotional ad with the June 14th start date was originally supposed to be the cover of the soundtrack album.

Is this LA only? Or will it be released nationally?
(And what is really the point?)
Paramount is expanding it's GREASE franchise. A line of checkbooks, manufactured by StylesCheck is very successful and continues to grow and now 505 Games in conjunction with Paramount Digital Entertainment is developing a GREASE game for the Nintendo Wii proving that GREASE is still the word..
GREASE checks, video game

It will have a NATIONAL RELEASE in JULY.
The point is: GREASE IS STILL THE WORD.

If I start seeing these images popping up on the internet I know where they originated from.
I designed this one for a friend to use on his iTouch:

I Just finished a production of Grease in Houston directed by Kevin Cahoon. All of the principal characters looked this up together because none of us knew what it meant. We were all very surprised, and needless to say, it changed the way we looked at the song. haha
I adore GREASE, always have, always will. I was always so angry that they cut "There Are Worse Things I Could Do" for the TV version (this was before video). I would just fume. I think my parents knew I was gay in that moment. I was like 7 years old.
However, whoever thought up the idea of sing-a-longs is bonkers. Let's encourage people to speak more in a theatre. Great idea. I have to fight on a weekly basis to get people to shut up in every movie nowadays. I won't be attending the sing-a-long. It would make me nuts to listen to people sing with the actors.
It's far from being a 'World Premiere'.
Sing-Along-A 'Grease' has been playing major theatres across the UK for at least the last 10 years and still continues to do so, filling 2000 seater's every night
It occasionally plays a West End theatres too.
Other Sing A Longs that are always touring the UK include;
'The Sound Of Music'
'Annie'
'Oliver!'
'Joseph'
'Hairspray'
'The Rocky Horror Picture Show'
and 'High School Musical'
All accompanied by a floor show with fancy dress blah blah blah.
Marquise -- I adore you but seriously, you and virtually everyone else on this board need to lighten-up. If only you guys could see thru my silliness and see how deliberate ALL my obnoxious postings are. They are fully intended to be pretentious, condescending and pathetic. Simple things that amuse me -- seeing how you guys react to all that.
Calling me on it is seriously pointless. I'm onto my own bulls**t.

Then do us a favor and punch yourself in the face.
"When Grease was on HBO in the late 70s/early 80s I asked my mom what fongool meant. She was not happy."
ME, TOO!! But my mom couldn't really pull a 'shocked' card. Cause she used to (and still does) say it. All. The. Time.
However, when I asked the meaning of the words 'tit' and 'pu$$y'?
Shoe came off.
I have the bluray which is wonderful and has the sing-a-long feature included. A few years ago they had a grease re release sing-a-long premiere at the Outfest film festival. I think I will stay with my memory of that rather than go to the Bowl and ruin my memory of it with a evening full of breeders and their children.
mama, maybe this is the world premiere of the newly restored print.
I am not a big fan of sing-a-longs (except Rocky Horror) at the movies so I will most likely pass on this one. I would love to see it again on the big screen though.
