Patina Miller, Matthew James Thomas, Terrence Mann & More Confirmed for PIPPIN on Broadway- Full Cast Announced!

Really excited for Patina, Terrence, and Andrea. I've been a fan of Andrea's for many years ever since she played the Word Fairy on 'Sesame Street'. She was also excellent in 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' and 'Young Frankenstein'. I also listen to OBC of 'Beauty and the Beast' with Terrence very often. I'm also really happy that Patina is returning to Broadway; she is so talented.

ETA: Charlotte d'Amboise is also a terrific actress and singer.

I'm hoping Orion negotiated more stage time for his thighs...

Announcement is no surprise, but I'm still giddy we'll be seeing this fabulous cast! I'm going to the second preview and I'm counting the minutes.

Gosh, I remember Andrea Martin when I watched her on SCTV Network, during my college years in the early 80's. She did a spot on imitation of Indira Gandhi around that time. Then, the prime minister was assassinated in 1984 and A.M. stopped doing that parody. She also played a small role in "All Over The Guy", as a kooky parent who happened to be a psychiatrist. from rC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

is this the first time they'll be in a Broadway show together. I know both did Cats many years ago, but I don't think it was at the same time.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

PIPPIN has always been, in my mind, a show with an absolutely charming score but a terrible bore (and odd) of a script. Last time I saw a production I promised myself I would never see another production and just stick with listening to the OCR. I think I'll be making an exception just for this stellar cast...

As someone who LIKED Charlotte in "A Chorus Line," I found her performance in "Pippin" to be, well, dull. She never once went for the laugh (and even in the worst community theatre production the "housewife and mother" line always gets a laugh, she did not), and she wasn't at all dynamic. She looks great and sang just fine and unfortunately they cut the extended dance the weekend I saw the show. Honestly, she was the only thing I heard people complain about during intermission. I knew she wouldn't be replaced since her husband is also involved (and he is great as Charles) and because of her great working relationship with the Weisslers.

Actually ACL2006, Terry and Charlotte did spend a little time in Cats together and then they were also in "Jerome Robbins' Broadway" back in 1989, I think. I think it was when he came in to replace Jason Alexander. But they haven't done a lot of stuff together on broadway and not recently. So this should be cool.
