Moron reporting. What was Patti expected to do? Stand up and start waving? She did what I do in those situations, start looking at my phone until the nonsense is over and the show resumes.

Also, the description of the dress and the actual dress Lopez wore.

The “Jenny from the Block” diva arrived with kids (a “mix of her own and Affleck’s,” according to a spy) in tow, decked out head-to-toe in “eye-catching” pink and purple sequins.

Quite sure the reporter was making a joke about Patti, not expecting her to do anything.

And the dress IS a light pink with lavender sequins. You can see it in other photos and zooming in on that one. Maybe it’s not a Liza standard, but the description isn’t wrong.

lots of stuff in the world to get upset about. I don’t think this fluff piece is one of ‘em.

The degree of disruption is greatly exaggerated. I was at this performance, first row mezzanine, and did not notice any late arrival or any disturbance at all. My first inkling of our famous audience member was not until seeing a crowd gawking at her enormous limo after the show.

Also I am surprised no one has mentioned that the subject line of this thread (a) suggests that Patti actually did something (an that would not have been out of character) and (b) is, in context, an oxymoron.
