Normal People was a fairly big thing, he has a decent chance of getting an Oscar nomination this year for Aftersun, and was just cast in the sequel to Gladiator . And if nothing else, the material itself commands attention... you don't bring Streetcar back to New York for no reason.

Didn't that sell well and win the Tony?

Edit: Nope, it lost, I misremembered. But I recall it was the favorite going in.

I saw it and the theater was pretty empty. Not sure if it turned a profit.

But hey it’s not my money so go for it!

Bet Sonia Friedman is already on it!

When A Streetcar Named Desire opened on December 3, 1947, Brando was 23, Jessica was 38, Kim was 25, and Karl was 35.

Mescal is just amazing in everything he does. I think he will catapult to major stardom. Such a talent. I predict he will have a career much like Russell Crowe in his formative years. And I would say that Mescal is probably a better actor.

Streetcar is currently sold out. I think a limited Broadway transfer would do quite well. I would be first in line to buy a ticket.

Some are predicting that he will get an Oscar nomination this Tuesday for Aftersun.

Attention Lorne Michaels…..Mescal would be a great SNL host….you can thank me later…..

Paul Mescal was just nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars for Aftersun, so that could bolster the chances of someone trying to transfer this to New York.

Not if he's not free or he doesn't wanna do it.

I'm really hoping it comes to the US - even if it's just to BAM, Armory, Shed, St. Ann's or some place like that (it would be funny if it came to St. Ann's, following in the footsteps of the Gillian Anderson / Ben Foster / Vanessa Kirby version)

The Oscar nom can't hurt, but I think we've seen in recent years that the Oscars don't actually mean that much to the Broadway box office.
