I was wondering what does everyone do for a living on here? (student, retired, working etc....) Does anyone work in the theatre?
I'm a screenwriter / director who's currently working on a stage musical. If my professional title gets any longer business cards will be out of the question.
I'll be interested to see if others pipe in. It was only recently that I realized I'm an old fart on this board at the age of 44.
I'm a copy editor at a travel magazine in NYC.
Yes, I spend all day correcting other people's bad punctuation, misspellings, bad grammar, and other crimes against humanity.
I know, I KNOW.
I'm a retired student who's working.
Lizzie, I LOVE IT!!! I always thought you were a teacher but this makes much more sense! :)
LOL. Jordan, this is actually my first time being a full-time copy editor, though I've held various other journalism positions before. I've only previously been a copy editor as a fill-in, as a small part of my actual job, or as a volunteer. :) Or on the BWW boards...
Hitman or hooker.
Either one. I go where the work takes me.....
When I first joined BWW back in the dark ages, I was an undergraduate theater student. I have since gone on to get my MFA and I work pretty regularly at small and mid-sized theaters in and around Chicago.
I grew up in the NYC suburbs going to Broadway shows. I still go back about once or twice a year. In fact, I'm seeing Book of Mormon on Saturday and Master Class on Sunday!
I am an Australian uni student (I study Psychology), and work as a casual supervisor at KFC.
