At first I thought this was unnecessary... But after scrolling down the front page of the forum, I have to admit it's not a bad idea. I haven't done the math but it looks like 75-80 % Hamilton. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Or just let this be the Hamilton board and make a new board for everyone that doesn't want to discuss Hamilton. Oh wait, that would be ridiculous. Better we just all get over ourselves and scroll past things we're not interested in rather than kicking up a fuss I think.

HAMILTON is amazing...and I've only listened to the cast album and consumed the Hamiltome. None of the shows mentioned as Hamilton-like game changers were premiering in this age of 24/7 social media, etc. Social media would've gone crazy over A CHORUS LINE back in the day...but there was no social media back then.
I hope it enjoys its success to the fullest, because years from now, when we talk about this...and we will, be kind when its box office is dipping below 60% and everyone is speculating what's next for the Richard Rodgers. It will happen.

Totally agree. Nobody is saying that Hamilton is a meh show. It might have changed the way Broadway sounds, but it is NOT the only way Broadway sounds. Let's talk about Shuffle Along, The Color Purple, and many other shows that are no less important than the show plz.

Through the years, younger generations have been smitten by such things as MTV, Animal House, The Hunger Games, and action-hero movies. I don't know if objects of admiration such as these merit rejoicing any more than the show in question here.

You'd think that some ridiculous legislation was passed insisting b'way fans talk about Hamilton....or are forbidding the discussion of other shows.
I've discussed Shuffle Along, but since my experience was less than positive, I choose NOT to talk about it. Same goes for The Crucible. It brings me no joy to hammer my dislike. I I LOVED Dear Evan Hansen, but that discussion has dissolved into choosing seats. I can't discuss The Color Purple or Tuck Everlasting as I won't see them until tomorrow.
So....if you aren't part of the solution....getting better threads started, you are part of the problem. Whining about Hamilton is still talking about Hamilton.

I believe that the large number of threads have contributed to the show’s development and success, so we are all entitled to a share of the profits.

But it would be nicer if folks added to existing threads instead of starting fresh ones for what is essentially the same topic (i.e., all the recent threads regarding Hamilton and the Pulitzer Prize).

^Sure, but a few things happen with that:
1. Newbies that don't get it. (Notice how many of the new threads - yesterday's silliness notwithstanding - are from folks here less than 3-4 months)
2. Some of the threads are so long, that once you introduce a new topic, it gets all twisted in the other topics -- making it difficult to follow clearly.
3. How hard is it to just scroll by a topic you aren't interested in?????
