We will be in town for just a few days and looking for a Sunday evening show. Fiddler is at 6 p.m. but we have 3 p.m. mat tickets to see Evan Hansen. Running time for Evan says 2.5 hours. Do you think it would be possible to run over to Fiddler three blocks away and still get there for 6 or would it be cutting it too close? Does the actual show length of Evan end up being longer than 2.5 hours?

I think you can make it... should you do it is a separate matter.

Youll need to haul ass but you can do it. With intermission and actual start time it actually runs around 2hrs 40 mins.

I personally wouldn't want to do it. Fiddler is very far west, also. Use Google maps to see the distance. It's three blocks south and almost two long blocks west. Plus, the sidewalks will be very crowded at that hour, so you may find it hard to make good time.
Unless Fiddler starts late. Which of course is a possibility.

When I saw DEH, it started 10 minutes late. If your show starts late, and you get caught in the crowd at the end, plus all the matinee crowds on the street, it's next to impossible to get around a huge mass of people. I don't think you would be on time, but have no idea if they seat late people. They shouldn't though. Ever.

You should male every effort. What a day of theater you'll have! Two great shows. And I think you can make it easy. DEH will be over around 4;50 PM if not a bit earlier, so you should have no problem making it to Fiddler by 6, and you can even buy a hot dog and a pretzel on the way. Or a gyro.

DEH starts at 3 pm. It definitely won’t be over by 4:50.

RIGHT! I missed the Sunday matinee reference. So it's really not realistically possible. Too bad.

Don’t buy a ticket for Fiddler just in case, but if i were you I would at least try. As soon as DEH ends, just haul a** to the next theatre. If you make it in time, you can just buy a ticket at the window (or a cheap ticket on stubhub ONLY if the theatre accepts mobile tickets). I’d say that if DEH ends anytime after 5:45 you won’t make it, but if you’re lucky and it ends between 5:30-5:40 you should make it with 2-3 minutes to spare.
You will literally need to rush out of the theatre the SECOND the curtain descends for DEH, but if you manage not to get caught behind the crowd leaving the theatre, you should make it with 2-3 minutes to spare before curtain.
It’s worth a try!

Double check. Fiddler stopped Sunday evening shows in June. They now have a matinee only on Sundays. The ended Sunday evenings but added Wednesday matinees.

This is a great answer. Are you sure Fiddler has a 6 p.m. show the day you’ll be in town? They are few and far between. There seems to be one in October and one in December.
