*breathes deeply*
Waiting for it to pop up on UK amazon... it's already on dress circle. Am restraining myself. For Now. Just to see what the prices are going to be...
Wonderful. It's a disgrace there was never a recording of the recent London cast.
Agree entirely philitalia. I'd love this to be Hodge and Lawson, but I'll settle for Grammer if it's what it takes to get it recorded...
Order it from Amazon in U.S. It's about £14.00

I WANT IT NOW!!!
It's a shame they aren't recording the overture.
Anyone else not care for the song 'Masculinity'? It's the one song in the show that I can't stand.
I know lotiloti - but I'm hoping amazon uk might have downloads... though I'd like the actual CD... Hmmm. I don't have to buy it this instant - so I'll wait to see if I can get a better price.
NO overture? No promenade? No entr'Acte? This would have been a wonderful opportunity to record ALL the music from the show once and for all and would even give people who might not be fans of this production an incentive to buy the CD. Oh well, I'm glad they're doing it anyway...
I'm gay with joy!!
Now I have something new to remember this production by along with my autographed Playbill, autographed poster, and souvenir program (not autographed)!

sounds like its being done on the cheap.....
Isn't it best to order it directly from PS Classics so it arrives a little earlier (9/15) than the actual date on Amazon? Same with Sondheim on Sondheim (ships on 8/10). Especially true for those of us in NYC, I would think!
If this is an accurate tracklisting - Poor LA CAGE. ALNM got an extravagant two disc cast recording with added musicians, dialogue, reprises, etc on the same label. LA CAGE couldn't even get the overture recorded? I assume a lot of it has to do with the producers of the musicals.

I'm surprised, considering PS Classics generally releases very complete recordings.
The last day of the London performances they also filmed the whole show for "archive purposes". Won't be released on dvd. Pffff
Yes! I NEED this.
This is a MOCK track listing - we don't even record the thing for another week! Remember the same thing happened with Sondheim on Sondheim. E-tailers such as Amazon, etc. require a track listing to list the product, whether it is final or not. This is gaurenteed to change.
It's actually being recorded tomorrow and Friday. The Overture will be recorded.

DivaRobbie2- Does this mean that the track listing currently on the PS Classics website for Sondheim on Sondheim is still only a mock, and there's still hope for those missing tracks to be included? Or am I just dreaming?
I wrote a letter to PS Classics asking about them, but never got a reply.
The Sondheim on Sondheim track listing (with seven soundclips) is correct at www.psclassics.com.
Price is now $12.99
i'd wait til psclassics posts a tracklist before i started fretting.
PS Classics now has some new news on it's website under the "Notes from PS" section, stating that the new recording will have either 21 or 22 tracks (they state "It depends if we give one short item its own ID.") Sounds like they are going to be doing the encores of songs, reprises, and playoff music. So this gives hope for those of us wanting the overture and the like.
Anyway, along with this news, they are having a contest. The person who comes closest to getting the track list correct will win a free copy of the CD. (IMO, it should at least be autographed too, but a minor personal opinion).
They state that the full track list will be posted in the next one to two weeks.
TheatreFan4, I do not care that much for "Masculinity" but I don't dislike it nearly as much as "Cocktail Counterpoint" which sounds even worse on stage (in this revival) than on the OBCR (where it is still contrived and not clever).
Excited about the new recording, in general!
SO excited this is getting recorded. This is my favorite thing I've seen on Broadway in a LONG time. I've got m pre-order in and just submitted my track listing guess. I'm really hoping a LOT of dialogue gets recorded. I would think with 21 or 22 tracks that at least SOME dialogue would have to be included. We'll see, and I can't WAIT!!!
not a fan of Hodge's Albin, but it will be nice to have a modern cast recording of this show. The OBCR has not aged well.
