Posted: 10/11/09 at 12:43pmAnn Harada owns Christmas Eve, but I do have to give Minglie Chen meda-kudos. I thought she did a really good job with the role when I saw her a few years back. Ann Sanders...not so much.

Posted: 10/12/09 at 1:15amFor those who saw the show, in your playbill, who is listed as understudies? I was looking at Q's website, and it said the ASM was an understudy and one of the ensemble members (Jed Resnick) just had "ensemble" next to his name but not understudy. He's understudied for this show before...does the playbill say he is one?

"To answer some questions
-Pretty much everything from the Broadway show is in this version
-Giant Kate Monster is in it as well.
-The theater is 'Stage 3'"
They are using the EXACT SET FROM BROADWAY. They didn't build anything new. Some slight modifications were made, but the set you see is the set that was at the Golden.

elphaba, Jed is understudying all male roles, as before.
saveusmike, the "new Mrs.T" (Maggie Lakis) isn't new. She played the role on tour, and I agree, she's great. She is also Rob McClure's wife.

Posted: 10/12/09 at 1:13pmI saw her as Kate Monster opposite Rob's Princeton in Philly. She was great in that role, as well.

I haven't seen it at New World yet, but the giant Kate Monster puppet was much funnier off-Broadway at the Vineyard than when it moved to Broadway. I'm pretty sure it's the same exact puppet (or at least similar), but what made it funny off-Broadway was that it was totally out of place. Little tiny theater, and suddenly a puppet pops up that seems way over-sized for the house and that you can barely believe fit.
Looking forward to seeing this at NW soon.
