RENT Benefit Lottery Policy up...HAS BEEN AMENDED

Okay...here we go...let the madness ensue!!

RENT 10 BENEFIT CONCERT April 24, 2006 LOTTERY TICKET POLICY

There will be a total of 34 tickets at $20 each available for the April 24th Benefit Concert of RENT. These seats are located in the first two rows of the orchestra. They will be sold by lottery on the day of the performance, with a limit of two tickets per person. Details for participating in the lottery are:

Lottery will be held on Monday, April 24th at New York Theatre Workshop, 79 E. 4th Street (between 2nd Avenue and the Bowery).

Each person will receive a card on which s/he will be asked to print his/her name and the number of tickets (1 or 2) desired. You must fill out your own name only. There is one card per person, and any duplications will be disqualified. (These cards will be checked for duplication prior to the performance. If you are a winner and your name is found on more than one card, you will not be allowed into the theatre and the cost of the ticket(s) will be refunded).

Cards will be available starting at 3:30 p.m.

Cards will be placed in a supervised container.

The drawing will be held at 4:00 pm.

After the names have been drawn, the eligible ticket buyers will line up at the box office to show proper identification and buy their tickets. No tickets will be sold without identification that matches the name drawn in the lottery. Tickets must be paid for in cash.

After the lottery, no more $20 tickets will be available for the performance.

It is now being held at the Nederlander theatre. MOre details next week.

re: RENT Benefit Lottery Policy up.

Do you think they will be able to take all of the names in 30 minutes? Seriously? Maybe I am overestimating...

re: RENT Benefit Lottery Policy up.

I agree. How the heck are they going to get everybody's name in there in 30 minutes?

Nothing says what the time is. But I bet it's going to be 7 since there is some kind of gala party after it.

Edit: And it is that night (monday).

re: RENT Benefit Lottery Policy up.

the 10th Anniversary Benefit is on the 24th of April. The anniversary itself is the 29th...with nothing special planned except for 2 regular performances done by the current cast. yea

I thought they were trying to avoid the whole sleeping in the streets overnight ordeal from 1996? the online lotto seemed so much more organized and filled no screaming annoying little Idina fans in person and all that stuff.
hmm...

re: RENT Benefit Lottery Policy up.

sorry for the stupid question- but is this the reunion show thing with all the original cast members?

re: RENT Benefit Lottery Policy up.

I don't know how much sleeping in the streets there will be.

I've seen 500+ people get through the wicked lotto in 30 minutes, I don't think there will be that many people there.

re: RENT Benefit Lottery Policy up.

yup all 15 of the original cast will be performing at the benefit
hmm...

re: SRO, I think they SHOULD have it. It would make sense to just add those to the lottery pool.

wow. i'm SO there =)

i think this is a much better idea than the online lottery also. too many people would know how to cheat and give themselves multiple entries and stuff like that.

You don't? So maybe I am overestimating, which is a good thing.
You think I can get there right around 3:30 and get my name in no problem?
