Tracie will be amazing. Rosario will be fine. I agree with k80, Daphne DID have a very unique voice; so unique, it took me 4 years to get to like. But I heard Rosario performing "Without You" the other day, and woof. Daphne fans will not be disappointed. Anthony was right, in the sense that she has that husky, off-the-street type of voice. It's unique, but also it's very soothing and different.

Yes, one of the things I loved most about Daphne in RENT was how unique her voice was. I admit, the first couple times hearing it, I just wasn't that into it but after listening to it again and again it really grew on me and now I love it. It just worked so well with the character and it was one of those things that you will remember forever.
I wanted to get something that an "ex"-junkie like him would really appreciate and cherish....it's a brick of heroin shaped like a heart.

I agree... I think Daphne's voice was the one that I had to get used to.

same here. at first, i wasn't really that into Daphne's voice but as i listened to it over and over again, it sorta grew on me and i began to like it (like Adam Pascal's hair. hehehe). but i'm also curious to kno how Tracie will sound like. i'm so excited to see this movie!

I was reading the New Yorker yesterday and there's a short little blurb on the filming that went on this past week. I found it very interesting that they billed the movie as RENT (starring Rosario Dawson and Taye Diggs).
