so i guess that means peter and the starcatcher isnt transferring to broadway
Arianda is awful and Annaleigh is totally miscast. It should be interesting...

I'm with the others about Arianda. I saw her in Atlanta and I have NEVER seen someone so untalented in a show before. I seriously can't believe they cast her in this.
Adam is in for a world of pain. First, the N2N freaks stalking him, now add to that the RENTHEADS. Him leaving the stage door is going to be like a Lifetime stalker movie.
This kid is setting himself up for Rapp/Pascal-ville. His whole career he's going to be signing N2N and RENT memorabilia for little monsters.
I feel so bad for him.
"Looks like there using projections this time round!"
Didn't they always use them at the end?
So Who is Nicholas Christopher? Someone told me that Tom Collins would not be black in this production as the character was originally supposed to be an older whilte male.

I think you're all missing the bigger picture here...
"Michael Wartella (Steve, Gordon, Waiter, and others)"
How can someone be Steve AND Gordon?? Mr. Wartella must be a great talent.

Nick Christopher is an absolute doll. He's perfect for Collins. He just wrapped up the In the Heights tour as Benny. I worked with him last summer. GREAT guy. GREAT voice. Very excited.
So excited for Adam and Matt Shingledecker. Matt has a lot of talent, he was great as Tony in WSS. Can't wait to see what they both do in this.
On another note, congrats to Ephraim Sykes for breaking of of being "featured dancer". He really is talented, and although Memphis will need him back in the lead dance track, it's great to see him in a name role.

what about poor Morgan Weed
i am sure the american idiot fans seeing it for Ben Corbin And Sean will be asking her about her law suit vs American Idiot
I've was just looking up videos of different productions, and came across CCM's Rent this year. It actually looks like a great production, especially for MT students. The Roger is really impressive, and apparently he was only a sophmore this year. It's worth watching:

I have a theory that shortly after Million Dollar Quartet leaves the Nederlander for New World Stages, RENT will take back it's original Broadway home.
A guy can dream, can't he? :)
I'm really excited about this. I like Annaleigh Ashford, and I can't wait to see her as Maureen. I also think Adam as Mark is an excellent choice.

I give it three weeks before they announce Karmine Alers as Swing.
They should flip Morgan Weed and Annaleigh Ashford. Morgan would be a far better Maureen.
Also, Arianda is terrible. I remember seeing her on tour and cringing while she sang. I have never heard "Out Tonight" so brutally ruined.

I can't wait for the new cast recording.
What does Ben have to do to get a starring role? Jeez.

Nicholas Christopher is half black and half white and has a remarkable voice
Karmine Alers= a killer Mimi and Maureen. However, she is too old for this show.

Makes me a little mad that they'd cast someone as Mimi who has had such negative reviews in the past. They couldn't cast someone fresh to the role? Or with, at least, a positive reputation on the stage? I have nothing against Arianda since I've never seen her on stage before, but given everything people have been saying, I'm slightly less excited about the show now. Here's to hoping she's improved and that the rest of the cast is strong!

I'm excited for basically all except Annaleigh. She kindof irritates me.

"Wasn't Marcus Paul James in Rent on Broadway? For years? He's got a good 10-15 years on the rest of the cast..."
============================================================
Marcus is 30. I'm pretty sure that no one who has been cast is 15, or 20, for that matter.
Arianda was in the show five years ago, when she was 18. Why not give her a break and wait to see if she's benefitted from five years of experience and training before jumping in to bash her?

I saw Rent at the Westchester B'way Theater last year and thought Sara Ruzicka was an awesome Maureen. I just googled her and she is touring with Hair.

Is Corbin Reid Patina Miller's understudy in Sister Act?
