I was wondering if you've ever seen a production where characters have been played by people who are related, by birth or marriage. Like Terrence Mann and Charlotte d'Amboise in Pippin.
I'll give an example: Last night, I saw a few of my friends in a high school production of My Favorite Year. One of my friends played King Kaiser, and his sister played Alice - which, of course, made "Professional Showbizness Comedy" that much funnier.
"I think that when a movie says it was 'based on a true story,' oh, it happened - just with uglier people." - Peanut Walker, Shucked
The best example that comes to mind for me is Marin & Jason in n2n, which for me has become even more heartbreaking to think about.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
Jim Walton plays Nick in Come From Away. For at least a few months, he overlapped with his niece Emily Walton, who played Janice. (I think she's doing Darling Grenadine right now - from the press release, it sounds like she'll return after?)
Gabriel and Melina Kalomas were both in the Les Miz tour in the mid-2000s, but not at the same time. Hunter and Sutton Foster overlapped by a few performances on Broadway!

I saw a high school/college production of Les Mis in my area where JVJ and Javert were brothers. Added a ton of layers to the show, I felt.

Dominic and Matt Bogart were both in different companies of Jersey Boys at the same time.
Justen and Branden Steinagle both played Gavroche on tour. I think Branden replaced Justen, but I'm not entirely sure if there was a gap in there somewhere.

Timothy Shew and his wife, Jane Brockman are currently on the Hello Dolly tour together. She also did the Wicked tour and overlapped with her stepson, Jonathan Shew for some time.
Jim Walton plays Nick in Come From Away and his niece Emily plays Janice (having come from the tour) although I believe she’s currently on leave for another show.
you found your heart but left a part of you behind <3
It worked best when the relatives also play relatives in the musical.
A long time ago, in ALWebber's musical ASPECTS OF LOVE ( headlined by Michael Ball) on Broadway -- the young and the older Jenny roles were played by sisters. Sorry, can't remember the names now. Both sisters played their distinct roles well (including the singing, as each one had a solo from the score). The young Jenny sang the "The Mermaid Song" and the older Jenny sang "The First Man I Remember".

You're thinking of Carole King in Beautiful. Jessie originated the role on broadway, but Abby originated the track on tour and eventually did a stint on broadway.
I also just remembered Stephanie and Marc Crousillat, who play sharks in the current West Side Story revival.

Yes! Thanks for the correction. Right people, wrong role.
Elizabeth Southard and her husband Gary Mauer in the third national company of The Phantom of the Opera. Kirby Ward and his wife Beverly Ward in the national tour of Crazy for You.
Chris Mann and his wife Laura in the Phantom tour (he was Phantom and she was a swing )
Same for Trista Moldovan (Carlotta ) and her husband Steven Tewksberry(ensemble and u/S Firmin). They had also previously done the Broadway production and Christine and u/s Phantom I think
Steve Czarnecki(ensemble, u/s Valjean and Javert) and his wife Liz Shriver (swing/ u/s Fatine) in the Les Mis tour. I know they went on together as Valjean and Fatine a few times
When I saw a regional production of Matilda, Matilda and Michael Wormwood were siblings in real life (she was taller than her brother though which didn't make sense with the plot ) and they had two other siblings in the ensemble !
