Sutton Foster. Her belt, while placed nicely, grates on my nerves, especially on The Maury Yeston Songbook.

I forgot..
BETTY BUCKELEY on Elegies.
You can hear her vocal chords bleeding.

Outside of the Broadway arena:
Andrea Bocelli
Mariah Carey
Kelly Clarkson
Christina Aguilera most of the time (though I love Candyman!)
Kelly Clarkson? *gasp*
For me, Ethel Merman.

OOH! I got so many ideas from you guys. I have to second Kristin Chenoweth and Sutton Foster. While both great instruments, they both get annoying after a while. Its kinda like eating too much sugar.
Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman make me want to kill somebody. Anne Reinking isn't much better.
Cheno
Idina (though I don't know if she's on the respected singers list. no. that wasn't a dig. I just don't know where she falls in this respect. she's not as shrill in "see what I wanna see")
Sarah brightman

And sometimes I find Eden Espinosa gets a wierd vocal quality when pronouncing some words while she's "belting".
Sutton Foster has a fantastic voice, but constant bright belting does get a little repetitive.
Ana Gasteyer. She can belt and hit all the notes but I think her voice sounds really ugly.
May I add to the list, and I might be alone on this one:
Barbara Cook

-Christine Andreas (That God awful vibratto on the Scarlet Pimpernel recording pretty much made me decide on the Encore! version instead, although I am looking forward to seeing the Piazza tour.)
-Ethel Merman (I just... don't get it?)
-Bernadette
-Sarah Brightman
and probably more..
In theatre:
Sarah Brightman (irritating and shrill and psuedo-operatic)
Michael Crawford (just....unimpressive)
Patti Lupone , though I liked her in the performance of Candide(I don't like her tone, vibrato, diction, etc)
Mandy Patinkin (do I even need to explain?)
Liza Minelli (her vibrato makes my ears bleed)
Ethel Merman, only on certain songs
Shoshana Bean (I don't care if she's been classically trained at a prestigious school, that nasal tone and 'i'm black in a white girl's body' riffing just don't cut it for me)
non theatre:
Aretha Franklin (I just don't like her, I've never cared for her voice at all)
Diana Ross, though I prefer her with the Supremes (never understood the big deal with her)
Mariah Carey (no explanation needed)
I could name plenty more, but they're not considered respected singers.

Pearl Bailey. And I love Elaine Stritch, but in recent years her charming growl has withered into a stringy instrument at points...
Broomstick Boy: 2 things...
1.)I LOVE drop dead gorgeous.
2.) Sarah Brightman is not operatic, she is shrill with a lazy vibrato. If it is opera, it is extremely poorly trained. Yes she can sing high, no she does not have pitch problems. But, her technique is awful. I do not know why she was ever called an opera singer. Idina Menzel is more of an opera singer...
Any one of the popular woman who have a jack hammer-esque vibrato drive me batty. I also find nothing soothing about Espinosa's voice.
Idina Menzel.
For some reason her voice really just grinds my gears.
