I don't know if it's true, but one of the comments says it's been taken off Roku ("Also posting this right after the pro shot was taken off of Roku is really out of touch and insulting considering bootlegs are pretty much the reason for this shows success." ) Many others complain that the proshot is terrible and not good enough because it's not the off-Broadway cast (accents are bad, something, something).

The pro shot argument has always been a thinly veiled excuse for wanting to be able to access video/audio recordings of multiple casts, first performances back, mishaps, etc.

The people complaining ACTUALLY want bootlegs of every single understudy and replacement no later than their very first performance. There are tiktoks of people pretending to "wait " for a bootleg of a show while the person they want to hear is probably still onstage taking their bows. Long story short, they think it's a stupid law, and they don't think there will be repercussions if they break it. They don't see people go to jail or get fined for recording bootlegs, so they think it's more of a general guideline than literal law, and get pissy and cry "accessibility!"-when really they just want to be able to hear an audio for like, the second cover for Veronica on TikTok before the curtain even comes down. That has nothing to do with a pro shot-it's a very disingenuous argument on their end.

And what really amuses me is they claim they'll pay for a ticket if they have a proshot. You liars.

This turned out to be the surprise of the summer for me! I can honestly say I had more fun at Heathers at New World Stages than I had at probably any show on Broadway last season.

THE CAST. This cast is so incredibly talented, and it is clear that they are having the time of their lives up on that stage. Lorna Courtney, Casey Likes, and McKenzie Kurtz absolutely devour their roles. They are fully committed to the characters and the comedy is effortlessly exuded. Throw in those powerhouse vocals, and it’s just perfect. Not a weak link in the cast.

I had never seen this show live before, but I was pleasantly surprised by the book and score. I know both have been widely criticized across different productions of the show for not capturing the same tone as the film. I think this cast managed to find both the comedy and darkness in the material which I imagine is key to pulling this show off.

Anyways, I was surprised at just how much I loved this from beginning to end.

I saw this on Thursday after a fabulous lunch at The Barking Dog. Loved that place. Dogs! Avocado toast! Mimosa!

Admittedly, I am not the target audience for this show. (I’m actually too old to have a mimosa anymore.) Anyway, I saw this movie in the theater and then a hundred times after that. I loved it. I really wanted to see the theatrical version because I love the song, Candy Store. It’s a banger.

I do not get this show at all. My main issue is Veronica. I don’t know if it’s a directorial choice, actress choice, or how it’s written, but what a disaster. (F*** me gently with a chainsaw) She is portrayed as a ditzy airhead. She fawns over JD. Veronica from the film is smart, snarky, the embodiment of gen x (at least what we used to be).


The kids are certainly talented. I was wondering if Veronica has been played this way in other productions. Does anyone know?

Heathers will have a singalong on September 1, which is a Monday. So, depending on who you are as a person you can plan your trip or avoid it like the plague :)
