This just seems like such a huge fiasco. I'll be shocked if it opens.

Posted: 8/14/09 at 1:36amI was looking forward to Evan Rachel Wood. I just adore her and I think her voice is lovely. Too bad she's out.

Posted: 8/14/09 at 1:55amI say like when a thoroughbred race horse breaks it's leg, the kindest thing you can do is put it out of it's misery. I honestly think this show should be put down, and let's move on to something better.

Oh, I mean... Sony and Garfinkle.

Posted: 8/14/09 at 3:42amI don't see why they need any "names" in the show anyway if the star is the spectacle aspect.

Posted: 8/14/09 at 8:21amIs it just me or is Riedel going out of his way to insult this show? honestly, NOONE'S seen ANYTHING about this show. Just because it's spiderman, everyone thinks it'll tank. Sure, the budget is outrageous, but I'm glad it's moving forward. Atleast the producers are confident in the material and are willing to take the neccessary steps forward with production. If they loose their star, oh well, I'm sure they'll find someone new. If not, wouldn't it seem that Michael Riedel is stiring up alot of humbuck over nothing?

I don't suppose there is anyone on this board that may have access to the Hilton to get some pics of the "gutted" space and what they are planing to do with it?
Maybe in the end if they do sell the theatre and it is in such a mess they can turn it back into 2 decent size houses. One can only hope, then they may even figure out a way to give the Times Square theatre an access to 43rd street (even though it wont be a straight on access)

What did the producers of this show do to Riedel, to make him seek this much blood?

I think Reidel needs to shut up and let this thing play out.
The embarrassing nature of the cash flow problem has reportedly been addressed.
If the show dies, it dies, but it certainly shouldn't die at the hands of a gossip hungry industry column writer who benefits more from the perception that the show is a no go and that it will fail than he would if he would shut up and let it try to get its legs.
Shame on Reidel for being outspoken and decidedly nasty to a group of people trying to produce - God forbid - a show on Broadway. Reidel, go back to bashing everything you see in NYC. We're all much happier when you base your jaded opinions on things that are actually onstage than when you decide to perpetuate negativity for a crippled production that has yet to get to the stage.

"NOONE'S seen ANYTHING about this show."
For all we know, the creative team is in an office somewhere taping Julie for a youtube series, while listning to Adam Lambert do his rendition of "Somewhere over the rainbow" in complete Judy Garland drag. Or they could be playing Uno.

I think the URL for the show is vomit-inducing enough to give license to anyone to trash it.
"SPIDERMAN-ON-BROADWAY"are three words that should have been one of the signs of the impending apocalypse.

Posted: 8/14/09 at 10:53amWas there a kid named Spider-Man that used to steal Michael Riedel's lunch money when he was in elementary school? I don't understand why he is going out of is way to stab this production. There is no other confirmation on this story and I refuse to believe it is true. Riedel is a douche.
