I am certain that after the dust of centuries has passed over our cities, we, too, will be remembered not for victories or defeats in battle or in politics or at the Tonys, but for our attendance records in Broadway shows. - John Fitzgerald Kennedy [paraphrased]

There's going to be some pissy queens at the Booth tonight, for sure!

Posted: 6/9/09 at 6:39pmPissy queens at the Booth, or you mean on Broadwayworld? They've already started. This thread is as good as deleted.

Yankeefan, why you felt the need to edit your post to point out that I was the user who posted the item on ATC is beyond me, but regardless- I hope to hear reports on how Phillips does this evening.
I found her incredibly charismatic when she performed in At This Performance recently, so I'm curious how she fairs tonight.
Hopefully a night off does Ripley good.

Posted: 6/9/09 at 6:43pmMy post isn't pissy. It's satirical. I love Alice. I still hate cliffs.

Wow, the Stage Manager is a Schoenfeld.
Nepotism.

Wow....there will be gads of pissed of people. Which I sort of understand.
No aaron, no alice. (I know aaron is gone, but I'm sure plenty of folks don't know that.)
#11re: Ripley's out of Next to Normal tonight
Posted: 6/9/09 at 6:57pmI;m sure there is a good reason she is out tonight.

Hrm, maybe I can catch tomorrow's matinee because I am so bored here at home trying to find a job...gah!
EDIT: No matinee.

Posted: 6/9/09 at 7:16pmWow, both Jessica's and Kyle's first performance ever? He is going to be so nervous. This is going to be a hot mess. Audio anyone?

Posted: 6/9/09 at 7:22pmIs Aaron coming back to N2N? I know he's out in Seattle tonight for "Catch Me If You Can", but does anyone know if he's just going to stay out in Seattle?
#15re: Ripley's out of Next to Normal tonight
Posted: 6/9/09 at 7:24pmHe's coming back in September, after Catch Me if You Can' Seattle engagement.

Why would he stay in Seattle?
He has a return date set. Early september. I wonder if he has it in his contract to be able to leave for CMIYC's NY run.
#19re: Ripley's out of Next to Normal tonight
Posted: 6/9/09 at 7:48pmI just thought he might be staying since "Catch Me If You Can" opens soon.

Well, at least Brian D'Arcy James is still in it... oh wait...
P
P.S. Jennifer Damiano with 3 understudies would be fine by me. She is exquisite, as good as she was in INNER VOICES.

Posted: 6/9/09 at 8:07pmAswat, I think he is staying in Seattle till the end of the run... I'm guessing they're rehearsing there (or do you think he'll come back to NYC to rehearse?).

Intermission. Show started seventeen minutes after eight.
Started off a bit rough. Phillips is a much better singer than she is an actress. She's getting better as it goes on.
Kyle Dean Massey is good. He's not the best when he has to hit the higher notes but he's still fine enough. He just looks too old to me.
If you thought there was an incestuous undertone before, you should be here tonight. Wowza.
J. Robert Spencer is fantastic tonight...outshining everyone.
Will post more later!

He's going to Seattle FOR CMIYC...for rehearsals and the run. That encompasses the 3 months he's gone. Then he returns to N2n in September for an undetermined time. (till N2N's closing-- whenever that is or until CMIYC opens on B'way in the spring. I'm sure they'll work around his schedule at N2N if they overlap.)
While I would LOVE N2N to have a long and healthy run, I suspect that it will last to January 2010.
