Didn’t McClure show he could play this role when he did Where’s Charley? at Encores! way back in 2011?
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

I’m certainly not one of the people offended by Tootsie but I suppose I can sort of see why people could take issue with it – a misogynistic man dressing up as a woman to get ahead, no regard to the fact he’s taking a role away from an actress etc. whereas I feel like Mrs. Doubtfire is more innocent in a way? Daniel drags up as a disguise so he can see his kids. Saying that, I do wonder if the writers will try find a message about what it is to be a woman given the times?
Why? This is something that has been done in the world of comedy for years. But, if it offends you so, then I highly suggest you stay away from watching Monty Python's Flying Circus or some of the Bugs Bunny cartoons that are out there."
Even Shakespeare had men dressing as women! ....just saying"
Shakespeare had men dressing as women because it was literally illegal for women to perform in that time!
The concept of time eludes y'all, it's absolutely fascinating.

No, I believe you're the one who's dealing with that. Now, I am l young person (pushing close to 30) and as liberal as the day is long. Yet, this notion of what we can and cannot laugh about because it may offend someone is a joke in and of itself. We as a society are walking on eggshells being overly sensitive to how others will react and how, in some cases, being told how we should react. Laugh about something, don't laugh about something, that's up to you. But, what will never stop me from wanting bang my head against this wall is the asinine notion that something "isn't funny" because it may offend others.
