I'd love to see this happen, if she can resist the urge to sing... Maybe some special guests though? Anyone know whatever happened to the new podcast or radio show she was hoping to do or the reboot of her talk show?
I wonder how big her fan base is? She's lost popularity over time and hasn't really done much in the past 10 years outside of her two stints on The View.

WTF are you talking about? She stars in the Showtime series SMILF and has 259k followers on her Instagram, which she’s quite active on.

She was sitting behind me at Harry Potter the other night. As soon as I heard her voice, I knew it was her! I never see celebs so that was pretty cool. Grew up watching her, so I’d go to her show.
Even if she has lost some of her fanbase, a lot of it still exists and is of an age that tends to have enough disposable income to see a show like this if they're in NYC. Plus, as another poster mentioned, she does have a TV show and an active presence on social media.

In this day and age, 259k followers for someone who's been around as long as she has with the name recognition she has is really nothing. The craziness and nastiness has long since eclipsed the credible career as a stand up comic, talk show host and sometime actress. For her hardcore fans, they'll be with her forever. Are there enough of them to make a go of this? Don't know. Hard pass from me.

Let's try reading the substance and not the headline. First, it say she "hopes." Second, it says her aim would be to record it for broadcast. Nowhere does it say she plans to have a long sit on Broadway. Certainly no one would suggest her current fan base would not be sufficient to fill a theatre for a week or even a few weeks.
She and Michael Moore have about the same number of IG followers and there is probably a crossover between the demographics they appeal to. I would think her show would do similar business to what his did. One-person shows (Springsteen excepted) don’t seem to be doing big box office business lately (Moore, Leguizamo, Lithgow). Of course, overhead is likely much, much lower than your typical musical/play.
Also, unless she is put in that spotlight, Rosie isn't at all political nor is her comedy. Her true fans would expect for her to do a similar show to what Martin Short did with his one-man show FAME BECOMES ME and include lots of Broadway references. Its a show ON Broadway. She knows Broadway isn't the place to discuss political topics nor share her unsolicited personal views.

Fame Becomes Me was not a one man show.

You know what I'm talking about. Yes, Martin Short had a cast and musicians, but it was still considered a one-man show. I'm sure Rosie will also feature music in her ONE WOMAN SHOW so she's incorporate the same cast and musicians scenario on stage with her.

I believe Rosie's ship has sailed. Rosie 2018 is not the same in terms of likability and popularity as she was during the height of her talk show days. (The Rosie O Donnell Show, not The View) My best advice to her would be to concentrate on small supporting comedic roles either on television and/or movies. She needs a role to get her buzz back. If not...she doomed career wise.
Would she be able to finish a run, even if it's only for a few weeks? She was supposed to be in Good for Otto and pulled out because of "illness."
She's been equivocating on a return to Broadway for YEARS. I think at one point, she even mentioned possible bringing TABOO back for another run.
If she's going to do it, she needs to s#it or get off the bowl, since she's been teasing this sort of thing for a good, long while.
folks are still ignoring the substance. . If you take her at her word, it's a standup act performed on Broadway, not Martin Short, not Michael Moore, not Bruce. And remember, she is not Oprah. She cannot snap her fingers and make something happen. It's an aspiration. And if it is dependent on a filmed-for-TV deal, that's another mountain to climb.
Also, unless she is put in that spotlight, Rosie isn't at all political nor is her comedy.
Umm what?! Politics is ALL she ever talks about anymore. She is obsessed with Trump and the current political climate, to a point that it has completely taken over her life.
