As per casting notices on Playbill and Equity. This fall at the American Airlines. Someone shoot me in the face.

Roundabout was not the last to revive Cyrano, it was a commercial production that played the Richard Rogers

The Kevin Kline production closed a little over four years ago and is readily available on DVD... so what's the point of this?!?!

I was hoping Roundabout would try to bring in THE ICEMAN COMETH from the Goodman for a September-December run.

Roundabout did CYRANO already at one point, bdn. I believe it was Langella's.

Normally I would be happy for a Cyrano revival. It's a great play and definitely deserves a revival but they're asking for STRONG BRITISH ACCENTS for a French play. Sounds like they're starting off on the wrong foot.

All you ever need to say is Roundabout. We immediately associate bland performances, miscasting and bad direction with the name Roundabout.

When I was in the UK recently, someone gave me driving directions and said "Go to the next roundabout..." I started crying and said "Please don't make me" before I realized they were talking about a road and not a theater company.

They MUST already have a name attached. I can't imagine them doing this without star power. What would be the point? Unless of course this is a "new" play like AFTER MISS JULIE... which wasn't a new play at all, if you ask me.

So true, Gotham. I did enjoy ROAD TO MECCA (which was grounded by Harris' extraordinary and egregiously overlooked performance by the Tony Committee) and SONS OF THE PROPHET. But over 85% of Roundabout's work comes across like stock.

And yet we all keep going. Oy!

This isn't even an AFTER MISS JULIE situation...they're doing the Rostand play that was just done five years ago. Maybe the rights are cheap.

Sitting here trying to think of a Cyrano from the Roundabout talent pool. And at a loss. Very curious who it would go to. Jim Dale would be interesting, though he's a bit long in the tooth at this point. And he wouldn't sell tickets.

Adam Driver ain't hot enough for Christian. Give me Santino. Or even better, Pablo Schreiber. In his costume from DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS.... Or, y'know, just plain naked.

OR AN ALL-AFRICAN AMERICAN CAST. DONE.
