Kris, very nice post, and I agree that stupid people exist and that is sad and pathetic if that is the highlight of these peoples' lives. The one thing I disagree with though is the idea that because life is unfair and always will be, that no one should bother complaining or trying to do anything about it. Yes, in life, things can be very unfair, but that doesn't mean that if there's a way to fix things, you shouldn't at least try.
But, WORD that those four people, and the employees who helped them are very sad and pathetic.
Tickets being held is not the same as line-cutting. And if the box office has a hand in whatever shady business is going on, why would they make a switch that prevented it? Someone with authority over them certainly could, but why would the people actually involved do something to stop helping the regulars?
I do assume though that these fans are mostly young white girls, ages range from 12-19, because I can't imagine anyone older putting themselves through that. I have a feeling they might look back in a couple of years and think, 'What was I thinking?'
haha, you're just one, keepitpositive. you're not alone.
LePetite, while I appreciate the lovely picture of Jesse and would find that many licks from Bruiser to be more punishing to the dog, it's silly to ask for bank statements and receipts since you don't get a receipt with rush tickets.
As for the importance of this issue, obviously it is not more important than the current political issues, but that doesn't mean that it should be acceptable. Yes it's a small thing and it's kind of silly but honestly? Not everything is going to be life or death. It doesn't make crazy fans abusing their warped perception of power to take advantage of a broadway show's rush policy less unfair and something that should be remedied.
Yes, because young white girls are stupid and overreact. I'm sure not everyone who agreed that this is ridiculous is a teenage girl. I'm not. You could have left your statement with young and it would have applied. You didn't need to include race and gender. But that's a whole different issue unrelated to the bs that this thread was created for.

Oh, is that what that is? I thought jokes were supposed to be funny?
I actually don't think it's even age, it's maturity. There are people involved in this situation that are younger than keepitpositive and are handling it in a far classier manner. I agree with you, keepitpositive doesn't have to respond to justify what went on but people ARE going to continue complaining about this (at least to the LB house manager) until something is done about it.
It's okay... I've definitely been in that position. It doesn't sound like you meant it to come out how it did. Don't worry about it but it's definitely not just teenage white girls. At the stagedoor you will see all kinds of "crazy obsessed fans" and granted there are more than a few of what you described there are more than a couple boys, older people and people of different races. Crazy knows no restrictions.
