Not really silliness but okay.

But hey, look at that. They paid rush price.

Are they allowed to do that? To pay above the price listed on the ticket. Every time RENT has had discounts after lotto no matter the seat, it says the correct price. For example, when front mezz is marked down to $35 that day it says 35 on the ticket.

Let's be real do you people honestly believe that these people paid 1200 dollars on tickets to LB?

And why would they gloatingly post a photo of all 8 tickets together if they had paid full price.

Come. On.

It would be against the law for the box office to charge a higher price than is listed on the tickets. That would be a form of scalping.

Of course they claimed to have paid house prices for them, because they realized that was the only way they could get out of "trouble" for what they'd done. I'm sorry, but I can say with 100% certainty that they did not pay $1500 for 3 sets of 4 tickets to Legally Blonde.

I think if they HAD paid that much more than the price listed on the ticket, the box office would have had to print out new tickets or something.

LePetiteFromage, does that happen a lot? Because I have seen people try to buy lottery/rush seats at the box office and have been declined. I imagine that regular seats can become rush seats but not vice versa.

Also I remember keepitpositive's post. He never came out and said that he paid full price for the tickets. He said he didn't keep anyone from getting tickets because if they really wanted to see Haven as Elle they could have bought full price tickets. He said that if there is something he REALLY wanted to see, he would pay full price. He never said he paid full price for that Sunday or this past Wednesday. Updated On: 3/8/08 at 12:31 PM

Im sorry kelly you can absolutely not say i didnt pay that amount of money for those tickets. You have no idea what i do with my money, or what my friends do with their money, and when i say MY money, i dont mean my moms. I am sorry you went to the box office, and im sorry...nothing has happened and we have gone to the Palace since you where there, and heard all about the complaint you tried to file.. you need to just STOP at this point. Its over and done, obviously we didnt do anything bad or we would be banned.

They are 100% allowed to charge full price is someone wants to pay the full price to insure they get the seats they want.

Sorry to chime in.

If they did in fact charged full price for the tickets, whatever that may be, wouldn't they have to print that on the tickets? Otherwise, they wouldn't have it in the system that you and your friends paid full price, and the extra money can just go into their pockets.

Well that's weird because my friend's mom bought a rush ticket at the house price and they reprinted her ticket and it said the full price. It's also true that they can't sell the tickets for both than the price listed.

Also I don't really like how you are belittling all the complaints that people are having about this issue. You posted the picture of the tickets with the rush price. Many people are pissed off about this, not just Kelly. You shaking it off is just fueling the fire.

The personal attacks are really irrelevant.

No, I'm sorry....if they were going to re-sell the rush tickets at house price, which they are allowed to do, they HAVE to reprint the tickets with the new price on them. It is absolutely, 100% illegal to not do that. TRUST ME.

Further, their computer systems would not allow them to complete a transaction like that. There would be no way but for them to reprint the tickets with the correct price on them. This is done to prevent box office employees from charging a higher price for tickets and pocketing the difference. There has to be an exact paper trail for every transaction.

I meant that people are coming up with these ridiculous ideas for how they could have honestly acquired the tickets when in most cases the simplest solution is correct.

They had tickets for rush seats that are printed with rush prices. They took pictures of these tickets and posted them. They didn't rush. As AdamGreer said, the box office could not give them tickets with that price if they paid more for them. That's all you really need to know.

Also nothing says guilt like "stop investigating this". There are like 5 Law and Orders on the air right now, have you seen none of them? re: Rush Drama

First of all, I didn't say you specifically because there have been a few others who are entertaining the notion that this whole drama is misunderstood and that keepitpositive wasn't blatantly lying.

Oh, I'm sorry, was my hyperbole misconstrued? Honestly between L&O and CSI, NCIS, Bones, I can't really keep all my crime dramas straight.

The point is that investigation is not necessary in this case. The so called evidence is succinct and easy to understand. Keepitpostive (who is a boy by the way) told Kelly to stop complaining about it to the box office. The drama isn't going to stop until something is done about this.
Hell yeah for Jesse L. Martin. <3

wow. I love this country. it's awesome that you can still camp out for anything and get something in return. And life isn't fair- people will always have connections and more money and better looks and nicer clothes. Even bosses and teachers play favorites and totally get away with it. Some people have mommies and daddies who WOULD pay well over $2000 for their sweeties to have a good time. Just laugh about it- I mean they are so proud that they got to finagle rush seats to a broadway show-- so proud even that the pics are out there for the world to see. Could the "line cutters" be any more ridiculous and pathetic?
And getting four seats when you need two has to be the most selfish and ridiculous thing I have ever heard of in my entire life. I'm sorry you waited in line and this happened, but sleep well thinking about how silly they are. Life will catch up with them at some point.

And honestly, if the people in the box office lose their jobs, will it really remedy things? I mean really- I'm sure they have a lot of fun earning minimum wage. If giving some rabid fans a favor makes them feel important, obviously they don't have much going for them. Stupid people exist. We are lucky they do, so the rest of us can look that much better. And we need them--w eneed them to give us our tickets when we will call.

I'm going to be rushing on the 22nd. Should I be aware of these line cutters? Does the B.O. know about them? Are they going to switch to lotto bc of these people?

The issue isn't that people are cutting the line. Why don't you read the thread?
