So we've all talked about the Funniest songs.. how about the saddest?
The first one that I thought of was:
"My Brother Lives in San Fransisco" from ELEGIES for Angels, Punks, and Raging Queens

Well, I think 'Children of Eden' is pretty sad.
I also think the ending of Man of La Mancha's ending is pretty sad, the Dulcinea reprise.

Posted: 6/14/05 at 9:57pmthere's just too many to give a superilitive to "the saddest"... it really depends on your mood at the moment i think. such as right now, only because i'm in a good mood and i just listened to the cd, "woe is me reprise" is the saddest song ever!

Ohgod. Wayy too many to narrow it down (especially for an angst whore such as myself). So, I'll do the first five I can think of:
We Do Not Belong Together (Sunday in the Park With George)
There is a Fountain/It Don't Make Sense (Parade)
Anything for Him & She's a Woman (Kiss of the Spider Woman) - these are two songs, but I don't care
The Role of a Lifetime (Bare)
I Still Believe (Miss Saigon)

"I Dreamed A Dream" (Les Miz)
"How Could I Ever Know" (The Secret Garden)
"The Winner Takes It All" (Mamma Mia, yes, I know it's a pop song, but in the context its sung in the show, it works).
"Not While I'm Around" (Sweeney)
