This is a really sad closing. I love this show, but I'm obviously not surprised. Glad I got to see it three times! Hopefully I can go once more!

Gd is having a rough week. Godspell, then JCS and now Sister Act. Perhaps the Mormons really are the "right choice" (per the South Park movie)

I think it could have had a longer run had they opened at a different theatre. The Broadway Theatre is just too large for SISTER ACT. It could have filled a different one.

For a fluffy musical comedy, it had a good run. I had a really good time when I saw it, and wish it a happy life on the road and in stock and amateur productions.

The problem was that the West End production was huge and they wanted have the sets very similar to it.

I am sad to see the show go, but I am looking forward to the tour. I think 'Into the Woods' should play at the Broadway Theatre next since the outdoor production in Regent's Park was large and so will the Central Park version and the Broadway Theatre has a large stage. Plus, Amy Adams will be able to bring in audiences if she transfers with it.

ETA: I bet Andrew Lloyd Webber also has an eye on this theatre for 'The Wizard of Oz', if it is a success in Toronto, just like he did with the London Palladium.

Oh please not another ALW show. That guy needs to go away. Love for him is dying quickly. The only reason EVITA is doing well is because of Ricky Martin and that success is already going away. PHANTOM is only still open because it's a classic now and an event for a tourist. And even that's switching to WICKED

Maybe Patina can close out the run for the last week or so? Just saw her in First You Dream and it reminded me of how much I miss her performing "her" role. Whoopi might have the character for the movie, but the musical version is Patina's no doubt.

It will be interesting to see how much of the current Broadway set they can take on the road for the tour. I am hoping it will not be like the 9 to 5 tour or Legally Blonde tour where the set was completely scaled down.

Lloyd Webber's Wizard of Oz will not be coming to Broadway. They were hoping to at one point, but that's done.

Matilda is going to take a different Shubert theater. The Broadway is too big for them.
