THANK YOU LesWickedly! I saw it last Friday in Boston and Autumn seemed sooo familiar to me but I couldn't place her! (I kept thinking of it only when I wasn't near a computer to be able to google.)
I found the show funny and entertaining. Not a show I'd need to see a second time, but a good evening. I've wanted to see Rob McClure in anything live since I saw Chaplin clips online, and he didn't disappoint. He was outstanding.
Caught the tour in Boston and it was a great production! After seeing it on Broadway twice, I was impressed with how it held it's own. I had seen Brian D'arcy James, John Cariani, and Christian Borle in the roles both times, but Rob, Josh, and Adam were fantastic. Very different dynamics to the roles, but I thought it worked very well. It's very hard to top Brad Oscar's performance, but I thought Blake Hammond held his own as Nostradamus. Thought the actors playing Portia and Bea were also great, but again, pretty different interpretations from the OBC. The Opera House adored whoever is playing Brother Jeremiah.
I loved the ensemble on the tour- Pierce Cassedy was a standout in the "dress" track and I would love to see him go on for Nigel.
There's definitely some cleaning to do dance and set moving-wise, but the tour is off to a strong start.

I saw this tour in Pittsburgh over the weekend. I do Saturday matinees, so usually see at least one understudy, but all the principals were on and they were wonderful. It's inspired silliness, so if you like that sort of thing, you'll like this.
So far I've enjoyed all the PNC Broadway Across America shows (Finding Neverland, A Christmas Story, Curious Incident, Something Rotten). Still to come: The King and I, Fun Home and An American in Paris. When you can't get to NYC (and I didn't last year), these tours are the next best thing!

I haven't seen the tour, or the Broadway production, but I'm really enjoying Rob McClure's Broadway.com vlog. Here's a link for anyone who wants to check it out.
caught the tour and I have to say Adam Pascal and Rob McClure were better than the originals...Christian Borle and Brian Darcy James. I did miss Brad Oscar as Nostradamus but the gentlemen who did that part was fine.. just not as fine as Brad Oscar. A very successful tour!!!
Rob McClure is utterly fantastic. So much talent, charm, and presence. Absolutely one of my favorite performers out there.
Adam Pascal I did not care for. Loved him in Rent, but here, he looked kind of miserable the whole time. Which is a fair way to play it-- like he can't be bothered with anything, but I was begging for Christian Borle the whole time.
Blake Hammond is playing Nostradamus.
Pierce Cassedy made his Nigel debut recently:

For my Chicago people! I'm thinking about rushing, do you think if I got to the theatre at 7:00 for the 7:30 show will they still have some rush tickets left? I'm going with two other people so we'll need three.
I'm going to pick up tickets for the San Francisco run of the tour. Any idea if Adam does the stage door thing on tour? I was a huge fan of Rent (and even Aida) back in the day.

I was curious about something, having just seen the show Saturday night in San Francisco. There's a line in which Nostradamus - played by Blake Hammond - is vaguely predicting the future of musicals and talking solving a problem like Maria and about Nazis. He is asked if Nazis are good or bad. He replies that he's not sure, then stops and adds pointedly: "But I think it's really important to get that right."
The line brought down the house. For anyone else who has seen the touring production or the Broadway show, I was curious if that line has always been there. It felt like it was something added, but I have never seen the musical before.
Does anyone know?

Anybody know if Adam and Rob will still be in it when it comes to Philly? It would make sense for Rob since he lives here
Show was overproduced and overpraised. Living now in LA, don't care if it comes here or not.

Will more dates be announced? Unfortunately I live really close to NYC, but didn't go to see in on Broadway since I had absolutely no interest in theater then. The only weekends that it is even sort of close to here/family members I can stay with I can't go and see it. I have no clue how tours work though
Saw this last night from the balcony in the monstrosity that is Segerstrom Hall in Costa Mesa....not an ideal venue to see a show (which is why I prefer the 1-2 hour drive to LA). I absolutely LOVED the show, and this touring cast is beyond FANTASTIC! I honestly have never laughed throughout a show as much as I did last night. Adam Pascal did not disappoint, and the rest of the cast was strong! It closes in OC tomorrow, but recommend seeing this cast if you get a chance!

So I saw the original cast on Broadway. Now I should say I’m a huge Christian Borle fan. I saw it the other night in Orlando with my 10 year old. I couldn’t stand it. I thought other than Rob none of the acting compared to the OBC. But my daughter loved it (she has seen a lot of Broadway shows and studies theater). We were talking about the acting and she said well I never saw the OBC so I can’t compare. I was disappointed because I’d heard so many awesome things about the touring cast. To me Pascal was nothing like CB in the role. And Bottom’s wife was nothing like Heidi Blik.
