Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress Sally Struthers will star as meddlesome matchmaker Dolly Gallagher Levi in the 50th anniversary national tour of Hello, Dolly! Directed by Jeffrey B. Moss, the production kicks off at the Edward Nash Theatre in Somerville, NJ, on October 5 before traveling to more than 70 cities.
In addition to Struthers, Hello, Dolly! will feature John O’Creagh (West Side Story) as Horace Vandergelder, Lauren Blackman (A Tree Grows in Brooklyn) as Irene Molloy, Matt Wolfe (Scandalous) as Cornelius Hackl, Garett Hawe (Newsies) as Barnaby Tucker, Halle Morse (Mamma Mia!) as Minnie Fay, Brad Frenette (Madagascar Live) as Ambrose Kemper and Hilary Fingerman (A Little Night Music) as Ermengarde.

Oh wow. I wonder when the cities will be announced.
Who the hell is producing this? Is it an actual tour or just a regional theatre tour?
It is produced by Big League Productions, Inc., which is led by president and executive producer Daniel Sher and vice president of booking, John Starr.

Big League does the Grinch tours. I'm looking forward to seeing how this tour turns out.
The artwork looks like someone put a good 30 seconds of thought into it.
I have zero opinion on this. When she did ALWAYS PATSY CLINE here in Palm Springs, she played to empty houses, but it was badly produced and perhaps not an indication of her draw.
But I can't hazard a guess as to how she will be as Dolly based on her playing "Gloria" a half-century ago!
She's played Dolly thrice previously, always in regional productions -- in 2006 at the Ogunquit Playhouse, in 2011 at the Riverside Dinner Theatre, and again in 2012 at the Alhambra Dinner Theatre.
Too bad they couldn't get Rob Reiner to play Horace.
One can only shudder, PJ.
g.e.l.g.i., did you see her in the part? How was she?
Have not seen her, but am more confident knowing she's done it previously than just relying on her performance on All in the Family.
I'm shocked that this is only news today when I've known about the tour for several months, because it was announced when season tickets went on sale in my hometown.
emo_geek: all the cities (73!) have been set. you can see the locations and dates here: http://hellodollyontour.com/#tour-schedule
I would swear Struthers in DOLLY was discussed here before. I don't care enough to search for it.
Good point, g.e.l.g.i. If she comes anywhere near me, I'll go see her.
I really hope that is not the real artwork.
That wig is awful. That is not her body....
I did the production in Ogunquit with her and she looked a million times better in that than she does here.

Newsies Garret Hawe is playing Banaby in this.
That is one exhausting tour schedule. So many one night stands. Can someone who's done a tour like that tell us civilians what it's like? How could you possibly get a decent night's sleep? Do you see anything besides the theatre, the tour bus, and a hotel?
It's not worth it....

That's one hideous gown compared to others.
Looks like the closest stop to me is Santa Barbara
wonder why they don't have the ensemble listed??
So no Broadway production then?

So it looks like this is tour's contract is the lowest SETA tier ($539/wk minimum plus extra when the show recoups). As others have said it looks like a killer schedule. I've seen Lauren Blackman (Irene) before and she's very talented, so I'm inclined to see this tour if it's near me.
