Not to be snarky, but how on Earth is she going to do the bend and snap?

I didn't know that Paulette was supposed to be 64 years old.
Has anyone seen any Ogunquit productions first hand? I wasn't familiar so checked them out on YouTube. The formula seems to be:
- stage the most recent Broadway production minus the budget
- make sure none of the dancers are ever together
- cast locals who sing at church and are frequently told around town that they "have a nice voice," along with the occasional D-list celebrity
- adopt the slogan "Ogunquit Playhouse - You've Seen the Movie, Right?"
That said, I'd love to check out the upcoming season. With the cool summer air, lowered expectations, and a flask, I bet it'd be a really fun time.

Can't help thinking how excited BigFatBlonde would have been.

I've seen quite a few shows there. Years ago they were somewhat hit or miss, but the last couple of seasons have been pretty solid. Last summer I saw SUNSET BLVD, SPAMALOT and CHICAGO - all excellent, esp. SPAMALOT. Hilarious direction and delivery, tremendous ensemble, plus Rachel York as the Lady of the Lake. Sweet. Stefanie Powers was surprisingly good as Norma Desmond, and in CHICAGO they had Angie Schworer and Rachelle Rak - with Struthers as Mama Morton! Unconventional, but she pulled it off. I'm kind of disappointed in this season lineup, although AVENUE Q and MISS SAIGON seem promising.

North Shore Music Theatre in MA is also doing Legally Blonde this summer.

Legally Blonde is appearing on a lot of summer stock schedules for this coming season.

I figure since the tour is ending that the regional theatres in all the land want to cash in on the name.
No doubt the amateur/stock rights business on that show will be huge. Wonder how close they came to breaking even on Broadway, and how much loss they've made back already.
I thought she was dead.
No disrespect to Sally, who I love, but are they cutting Paulette's songs or altering them? Sally can't sing Paulette's songs as written, can she?
I don't really see her age being an issue. Wasn't Orfeh in her 60s when she played Paulette?
Will anyone really believe that Sally Struthers doing the bend and snap will attract the eyes of all the men?

I am just all bewildered by this. Maybe they made a mistake and are making Callahan a lesbian. IDK, it just boggles my mind that when staring into the casting pool the obvious d lister to star is Sally Struthers...
Isn't Sally a bit of a regular at the playhouse? They had to put her in something this season and it certainly wasn't going to be Miss Saigon.

Because clearly she is wrong to play the Mayor's wife in their production of THE MUSIC MAN this summer.
Isn't Paulette supposed be knocked up at the end?
Yes, she is, as a matter of fact. I forgot about that.
I've seen two shows at the Ogunquit Playhouse. They were both excellent productions. This venue puts on quality shows. When the shows were announced for this season, I planned on seeing this one and also "Miss Saigon" (which I had seen in London years ago). But then my "Miss Saigon" plans changed, and I am instead seeing that one in July in Philadelphia. As for "Legally Blonde", I plan on getting the tickets Monday when they go on sale. Sally Struthers being in it has nothing to do with me seeing it: I was interested in this production before any casting was announced.
Two questions:
1) Why are so many theatres rushing to do a flop?
2) Who will play the Andy Karl role? George Wendt?
I'd rather see her as Kim in Miss Saigon.
