Thanks, JoseLee. I've played "Pick My Seats" roulette with Ticketmaster before and I could have adjusted the ticket price and done that to try and get E. But I just went for the section H ticket. I'm not sure about stage dooring but I'll think about it. Re meeting other BW board members, I can PM you. Thanks!
A few minutes until the newly added performance goes on sale. Anyone else going to try and get tickets?

Has he originated a role on Broadway? Has there been any talk of him doing so? Or is he one of the go to guys for stunt casting (as a replacement) at this point?
How about Stamos?
I know the latter was in the revival of Bye Bye Birdie but heard he didn't get very good reviews.

I assumed that was precisely why they cast Criss.

Wow! Not only will there be a third performance, but Jodi Benson will be Ariel in that one!

Perhaps Bareilles is expecting she'll need to head back to NY after the June 4 performance to attend the Drama Desk awards on June 5 and thus cannot do the June 6 performance.

Everyone sounds EXCELLENT!
REALLY impressed by Rebel.

My jaw was on the floor the whole time. It's very obvious and clear now who'll be be Ursula in the remake.
I agree, Rebel was fantastic, while not a tremendous voice. She was so into the character, I did not care. I think she is gonna make a terrific Miss Adelaide.
They'll probably go with someone older for Ursula in the live-action film.

Rebel was awsome.
Ahhhh wish I could have seen this. Rebel was indeed amazing, especially in the more dramatic second half of the song!
excited going tonight
Wilson did in 6 minutes what Sherie Rene Scott couldn't do during her whole Broadway run.
(Sidenote: how perfect was Pat Carroll originally as Ursula? Probably the best voiced Disney villain of all time)
And Howard Ashman is rolling somewhere over songs like She's In Love…just terrible.
This was one of the best evenings I have had at the Hollywood Bowl, and I have been going to the Bowl for decades.
The whole show was beautifully produced with almost seamless intetegration of live singing, projection of the film and video projection of the performers themselves, even the fireworks. And the sound of the orchestra was marvelous. I never realized how much underscoring Little Mermaid had but it's a lot.
And, yes, Tag, I agree with you re both Pat Carroll and "She's In Love". Ashman was a truly brilliant lyricist and storyteller. You can see his influence in the songs. And his talent shows elsewhere. I haven't seen the film in years, but I was struck by how well constructed the story is, not to mention the wonderful music and lyrics.

I was there too - what an evening. It was such a treat to get both Alan Menken and Jodi Benson, and all the performers were in top notch form.
I wondered how the Broadway songs would be integrated into the film screening, but the transitions were pretty flawless. I loved how they incorporated fireworks and subtle stage effects as well.
Everyone LOST IT when Tituss and Rebel performed, and of course there were... vocal Darren Criss fans screaming throughout his songs, haha. Sara was radiant and wonderful, and Norm was amazing as usual. I wish this cast got to perform together for more than just a few nights.
I went last night and I agree it was incredible. It was my first time at the Bowl and I can't wait to go back for Chorus Line. I was thinking of going back to see Jodie on Monday, but she did an Encore after the show last night so now I feel as I don't need to sit through it again. Tituss got a huge applause, bigger than anyone else, that I think took him by complete surprise.
This YouTube channel uploaded great captures.

Meh, I'm not seeing anything special about Rebel Wilson. Maybe if it were an amateur talent show I'd think, "Hey, she's pretty good."
Plus, Pat Carroll is incomparable.

Thank you - I had a similar thought. She has enough charisma that is almost doesn't matter though.
Tituss so wholly blew everyone else away. He's a once in a lifetime actor - we need to get him back to Broadway!
Did Darren Criss get a perm? ??

I saw it this weekend. I agree that Rebel Wilson was "eh." I thought that Darren Criss was the real weak link, though, especially when he was singing the quartet with everyone else (vocally, I'm just not impressed by him). Overall it was great, though! Sara Bareilles has a phenomenal voice. This was my first time seeing Norm Lewis live and he sounds even more incredible in person! Titus Burgess was great as well, you could tell that he had done this role so many times before. I recognized the kid playing Flounder from a YouTube clip of Miscast's "The Schuyler Sisters" because I had been so impressed by his performance in that clip, and his performance last night also impressed me.
Couldn't watch all of Rebel Wilson and that DRESS !! She wouldn't be long UNDER the sea once those natural flotation tanks broke lose.
I just put up a highlights video from last night's performance! The only performance I didn't get video of was "Under The Sea," but everything else should be there!

My thoughts:
Sara Bareilles-Perfect choice! She may not be as good as Jodi Benson (duh!), but she still sounds a lot like Ariel. When she sings Part of Your World, she has the spirit, sweetness, and the wonder of Ariel in her voice. Her poppish voice actually does the trick to capture Ariel. Her rendition of "If Only" is beautiful, but could need more emotion(like her acting). As of now, she's my #1 choice for Ariel in the remake.
Rebel Wilson-Blew me away! I was nervous because I only see her as Fat Amy from PP. Wow! Her voice is a lot more mature and she captured Ursula's sassiness and evilness perfectly. Like someone else said, she was much better than Sherie Rene Scott, who I found really bad and miscast as Ursula.
Darren Criss-Yikes, and then meh. Like someone said, definitely the weak link here. I don't think it was his fault completely (Producers may have wanted him to do it), but he butchered "Her Voice." I see why he did the pop Drew Seeley version, but man this song stood out like a sore thumb with the musical theatre songs. Producers should have stuck with the Broadway version. Darren didn't blend as Eric at all in that part. I just saw a pop star. And then "If Only" came. He finally clicked as Eric. He was the weakest in the quartet, but I saw him believable as Eric. His voice was musical theatre styled like the others and didn't stick out.
Tituss Burgess-What can I say? Perfect. Absolutely perfect. He's actually more cleaner here than the Broadway version and he just owns the songs. He nails the songs 100% with the notes and the energy. His "If Only" touched me and almost moved me to tears. The highlight of the night for real and he deserves all of the praise here.
Norm Lewis-He is wonderful as Triton. His voice fits the part perfectly. A bit of a waste though since he only appears in one song.
John Stamos-Wow! His impersonation of Louie was spot on and he was a joy to watch. This is my least favorite song in the movie and the musical, but his acting and comedy bits makes it worth it to watch. You can tell how much he was enjoying himself up there.
I only saw a little bit of the kid who's Flounder because I don't care for that song, but he was a good. Weird to put that song in.
Really fantastic night and I can't wait to hear Jodi. I adore "If Only" and I can't wait to her take on it!
