Hey everyone! If everyone can please take a moment to sign this petition that would be great. Priscilla should simply move to a smaller theater!

It had a nice run. It is time for other shows to come in.
Priscilla has had its last dance. Last chance for romance.
Let her drive in the sunset on tour.

It's time to shoot this wounded horse. This awful, boring, wounded horse.
If people want to see it, they will buy tickets. I left at intermission.
There is no such thing as "simply" moving to a smaller theatre. It's not simple at all.
Oh, come on!
It is a mediocre show with a mediocre cast. What is the point of mounting a show based on a great film if you cannot at least match the quality of the film?
I guess now Nick Adams can peddle his wares at the Townhouse.
I love the show, but even I know that won't work. None of these online petitions work.
MOVE IT TO NEW WORLD AND MAKE PRISCILLA A FORD ESCAPE!!!!! It could totes werkkkk!!!! Save Prizcilua!!!!

First of all...there may not be another theatre that's increasingly smaller to make a difference. Also, it would be extra difficult to transport everything the show currently uses to a different theatre. Broadway shows are well oiled machines, and quite honestly, you can't really tamper with them too much or they'll fall apart.
Moving to a different theatre would just be a bad idea. It will make a boatload on tour.

Priscilla has been averaging less than half of its gross potential even though it's usually above 50% in attendance. That means people are seeing it, they just aren't willing to pay too much money to see it. Frankly, from what I've seen of it, I'm surprised it's run this long.
But, even if you think it's a great work of art doesn't mean a petition to keep it open is a logical things to do. It's not being forced to close. It's not being profitable anymore. Broadway isn't just a place for art, it's a place of business. The producers want money, not signatures (unless they're for credit card receipts).
Actually, I don't htink it will make a boatload on tour. There really aren't that many people that know the movie, yet alone the show.
An online petition -- lololol. This isn't political, it's financial. I'm sure if you wanted to cough up a few million dollars THAT might keep it afloat. But unlikely.
Also you have to consider that the producers include the Nederlander name. Even if they were willing to cough up the money to move it they would most likely want a Nederlander house which at this point isn't available. Wishing it the best on tour!
So close to one million signatures, the producers have to take notice!
