SeatPlan, the comprehensive British seating review site, has added Broadway theatres to its database. As of now, there are very few reviews, but, once it gets going, I think it will be a great resource. So, if anyone here wants to share their reviews/pics of the views from specific seats, check it out!

I use seatplan when I'm in London so I'm glad they'll be here!

Does seatplan broadway have a similar Rewards system to their West end counterpart?

My friends who watch a lot of West end shows told me seatplan pays them 40p for each photo/review and 80p for each photo/review (photo must include ticket stub).

Copied from the seatplan website https://seatplan.com/company/faq/:

Rewards

What rewards can I earn?

For every review submitted, you can earn 40p per photo. To get 80p per review, you must have a view from the seat and image of the ticket stub attached.

Once you have reached £10 worth of rewards, you will be able to claim a Theatre Token.

Hi Wick3, really glad to hear you're interested in SeatPlan on Broadway! I work for SP and we're very excited to be heading (figuratively, alas) across the pond.

We're in the process of working out rewards for NY/US based reviewers. At the moment, all reviewers will get the 40p bonus added to their account, but we don't have any means of redeeming it for customers outside the UK just yet.

If you have any suggestions for rewards which would work for New York and US based reviewers, we'd love to hear them though!

FYI, SeatPlan has a great incentive program whereby you accumulate points for each seat review with a pic, and 1500 points can be redeemed for $25 Telecharge gift cards. It's 50 points for each review with a pic, and the first 200 pics for each theatre receive double points. As of right now, no Broadway theatre has 200 pics yet, so it'll be 100 points for each pic, and 15 pics will translate into a $25 gift card. It's a great deal, and a great site (much more user-friendly than A View From My Seat), so hopefully some of you will check it out!

It's an amazing site. Been using it in London for years. I noticed last night it was now including Broadway which is great. You should all support them!

Hey - this looks cool. I take a picture from my seat at every show (full angle, no zoom, and usually with a real point-and-shoot camera for an even fuller view), but I've only ever uploaded two visits. "Too much work" (i.e. I'm lazy) but an incentive would do it. SeatPlan Broadway Wonder if multiple reviews of a theater would count? For example I've sat *everywhere* at the Imperial - front row orch center, side orch, front row mezz, rear mezz last row.

I've definitely submitted multiple views for the same theater (same show even) and they've all counted.  I'm so glad they finally rolled out a US incentive and I love how much more user-friendly they are!  A couple theaters were missing a few rows but I emailed them and they were very prompt about adding them to the seating chart.

Thanks for all of the feedback, guys! I work at SeatPlan and we're really pleased to know the Rewards programme is an incentive for you.

To answer one of your questions - you're more than welcome to submit multiple reviews for the same venue! As long as they're not duplicates of the same seat at the same performance (and meet our other guidelines), we will approve them.

We also have a three-per-performance policy, so if you attend a show with a friend, you can add their seat photo and review as well as your own. We do ask that you upload ticket stubs for at least one of your reviews, just so we know they're legitimate.

To anyone who might know the answer:

If I submitted a review with a photo of the seat view and already received the reward points for it, would I gain additional points if I edit my review and add a photo of my ticket stub? Also if I had submitted a review without any photos and now edit them to include one of the ticket stub? Thanks in advance!

There are numerous errors in the accessibilty information for several theaters- the Cort, the Shubert, the O'Neill all have invalid info just from a quick look through.

SeatPlan is incredible for West End shows since in pretty much every theatre over there a good portion of seats have some sort of obstructed view due to either in the positioning of the seats or the poor raking where if anyone in front of you is over 5 foot tall, you can’t see the stage.

Thanks for raising the access info issue, Esther - I'll make sure the team look into this.

Hi, can you also add/suggest missing theaters? I don’t see Circle in the Square available

I think it would be nice if they could add SRO spots too, just in case people are curious about what views they are going to get... technically which seats are sold could change depending on show but the spot numbers should be consistent for each theatre.

Yeah, right now it doesn't have either of the non-proscenium theaters, Circle in the Square and Beaumont/LincolnCenter. And not surprisingly, the Palace which is closed due to construction.

Thanks CT2NYC for sharing the info regarding SeatPlan. It really is a wonderful site.

I had to do a little detective work when looking up my view for the seat I purchased for the Music Man at the Winter Garden. Initially I could not find my Left Mezz E41 aisle seat.  Apparently the Left Center Mezzanine (now 101-139) will change to 1-39 and the Left Mezz (currently 1-11) will become 41-51 for the Music Man.  For a second I thought I got scammed purchasing a seat that didn't exist.

If our customers suggest a venue over email, social media (or in this case, forum!) we add it to our list of feature requests - and Circle in the Square, Beaumont and the Palace (post-renovation) have all been included!

Will any of the plans be updated to include missing seats? I have photos from a box at the Walter Kerr, but they're not included on the plan. These seats are often ones people want to know what the view is like due to them being at the side and partially obstructed. I know I did plenty of research before I booked mine.
