Felt bad for Chita last night with all the technical difficulties. She couldn't hear some of the stories last night and seemed really frustrated. I hope she returns and would love a Chicago episode.
It seems like Seth & James now have a guest host for Mon & Tue matinees now and typically have one night off a week as well as long as there's something else going on to warrant no episode.

Well, I'm crying.
Seth and James announced that for the foreseeable future, donations from Stars in the House viewers are now going to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Props to them and many thanks.

Not to mention, over $350,000 for the Actor's Fund. What an accomplishment. And now this for NAACP LDF. We need more people like them. They're always striving to help.

Matt Doyle of Company tweeted that he would match anyone's donation to this important cause. The show's Twitter page has several tweets-2 were re-tweeted form Barack Obama's page, and Marianne Elliot wrote a lovely message.

I actually though Seth & James were going to announce they were taking a hiatus this week. There's nothing on the schedle for the remainder of this week oustide of Sunday's "Plays In The House".

and they made a change for tonight's show. No Laura Benanti with Nathan Lane. Tonight will be Schele Williams to talk about the new organization, the NAACP LCP, that donations are going to. Also, tomorrow tonight they'll have Uggams back with TBA guests.

my anxiety this week has been at an incredible high. Seth's Stars in The House have been a hourly, daily outlet. Kudos to Seth & James for being able to switch gears so quickly. Today's "Plays In The House" was mostly spoken word, and it was incredibly moving.

I know they don't want or need it but I hope that Seth and James get some sort of special award to formally recognize their consistent a-mah-zing-ness -- channeling positivity through art, increasing social awareness and social actions, using their platform to do good and amplify voices, and producing very tangible results.

Last night's episode (Thursday night) of 5 Genies from Aladdin was fantastic. It was such a joy to watch them interact and joke around and see the love they had for each other, but they were also able to talk about originating a role that many people perceive as white from the movie, as well as their experience in other countries as well.

As expected, they'll only be doing matinees on Wed, Sat & Sun starting this week. Also, it looks like there will be guest hosts for Monday & Tuesday evenings going forward. The upcoming matinees are still scheduled for the "Plays In The House".
And Seth, James & Dr. LaPook were giving a special Drama Desk Award last night for their show.

Posted: 6/24/20 at 4:25pmSeth and James announced this morning that they will no longer be doing Wednesday matinees also. Andrea Burns has been guest hosting on Monday evenings. I have to imagine they're prepping to possibly keep the show going until the end of the year.

Not sure who's still watching, but their line-up this week is pretty damn spectacular.

I was just saying to my friend that it was about time they had a Crazy Ex-Girlfriend reunion (though the episode with Andrea Burns, Gabrielle Ruiz, and Donna Lynne Champlain was quite good as well).

About time for them to be on Stars in the House I mean, seeing as a good chunk of them are Broadway vets and the show itself is a musical.

This is something that I don't watch though have seen the occasional snippits, it just doesn't 'work' for me.
The admiration is abundant in what they are doing and money raised and my related question is---those two can't possibly know all their guests so who approaches who to appear, who organises the set ups and who does all the research. There must be quite a team behind the 2 guys suggesting ideas/groupings etc.
As I said the show is not for me but just curious to know how it all works.

I get the impression that Seth is old buddies with all the big Broadway people from his experience in the biz as well as his Seth Speaks show. I'm less certain about all the Hollywood reunions he's had--they show big shows that I could easily see them brainstorming to approach though now that they've cut back, maybe they're running out of ideas. They show credits at the end of the show.
