She's a very talented lady.
Aha..that performance won her a Tony Award!
She was incredible in Pippin! Pippin is a good show, but this single song along worths the price of ticket
Thanks for posting, OP. That same YT account has several other vids from the production, including "Spread A Little Sunshine". Question for those who know, am I mistaken or is the staging for this number different in the tour? I ADORE Charlotte, but I feel like Sabrina's choreography was a bit more elaborate and, at times, faster paced. I'm pretty sure her costume changes were staged somewhat differently. I remember Sabrina's costume changes being even more dazzling than Charlotte's. Am I misremembering?
Charlotte spreads it
Now we can you understand that 60 isn't near to death?
I wish it were still running. Such a fabulous production that hit a home run in every department...quite an accomplishment. For years many though PIPPIN was stale, old, dated and not suited for a revival - - - and then this production proved all of that wrong.

This!!!
I always enjoyed the score, but the show never excited me.
This production had me walking on air after the show.
"Now we can you understand that 60 isn't near to death?"
Thanks for the thought, DMama, but for me, it depends on the day. :)
Lol, I hear ya'!
I have read just so much about this particular performance and was so pleased to be able to view it.
I respect Ms Martins athletic ability to be physically able to perform those tricks.
The show was circus themed so it was somewhat appropiate.
I would love to see someone in the same production and NOT do, or be able to do ,any 'tricks' .
It detracted for me from the sentiment and seemed just there for the sensation.
I was totally unmoved by the presentation but appreciative of the talent.
I feel so lucky I was able to see her. I saw six shows my last trip, and was originally planning on waiting and seeing the tour, but when they announced Andrea was coming back for 3 weeks, I immediately booked tickets for my final show of the trip, and her final performance on Broadway. It was one of the best theatrical experiences I have ever had and the absolute best way to conclude my trip. Bravo, Miss Martin. Bravo!
I don't mean to be rude but I don't see how you can see this and not separate the sentiment with the talent of the performance. The entire song is a testament to an older person not being hindered by their age, and Martin's performance on the trapeze is exactly that.
It isn't just a talented acrobat performing tricks in the middle of a song, it is a woman many people in our culture would consider past her prime performing incredible tricks.
I think it more than fits the song's message.
Yeah, one of the pleasures of this production was not just how good the circus elements were, but how well integrated they were. They became an essential part of the storytelling. But, everyone with a clue knows that.
A pity you just had to add that last bite to your post HT, reduces your intelligent post considerably.
Re-read--my comment was of a 5min utube clip-not of the entire show and I gave credit to that.
I was unmoved by the 'look at me-I am 60 and can still do this'-the audience screams and goes wild-so?-I have 80yolds at my gym that can do more, and sing, so the butterfly emerging from the cocoon then returning to it, just didn't do it for me. BUT, caught up in the moment with a live audience around me, then perhaps I would have moved with the mob.
Thank you Something-appreciated and responded in the positive to your observation--will look out for your other posts in future...SL

Oh, snap! Crossed wires. Misunderstanding. I'll happily own my snark when it's intended. I somehow missed your post, Sweet Lips because sandwiched between your post and somethingbypuccini's was an unrelated comment from gleek. I thought Puccini's post was a bit rando!
When I said "anyone with a clue" I just meant that I was stating something obvious - I was preaching to the choir.
And a member of this choir was happily singing along, following the bouncing ball HT-- --'Life IS worth living' whatever our age.....x
That's 68, well into her 60's. Lucy Arnaz (63-64) will be doing it on tour for the next year.
Lucie is done with the tour. She did the role very well, but for a very short period of time.
"For years many though PIPPIN was stale, old, dated..."
Only dopes, I think. There were easily just as many (if not more) who loved it and found it entertaining and fulfilling (if done well, that is).
That show being one of the 2 or 3 seen that year, I was so happy. Patina was....

You post with a lot of bite, then.
She is absolutely amazing! I would only beg to be like her at 60
