I was wondering if anyone had any idea why Sherie Rene Scott left Little Mermaid after what seemed to be quite a short run.

She was in the show for over a year.

Didn't she do over a year in the show? Nov 2007 (previews) through late January 2009 That doesn't seem very short to me.

Her wink and nudge Ursula was detestable, totally wrong for the part in every way shape and form. Ursula is supposed to be a hideous sea witch with a voice like gravel the looks of a drag queen.

And see, I found her performance to be the only bearable part of that unfortunate production.

Very true, overall the show was a massive let down.

Sherie was miscast in this but the direction was so atrocious we will never know what she could have done under better direction. She is the only reason I saw the show and she sang the role very well, of course.

Sherie hated that show and slept walked through it. She sounded glorious, but was clearly there for the Disney $$$. She had no interest in trying to be gruff or campy. The whole show was a tragedy, esp after what Disney had done with BATB. Norm Lewis was also squandered on this mess.

Because Heidi blickenstaff just really wanted to do the role so Sherrie handed her a script and sent her on her way.
