I haven't seen it, so I can't help you out, but just a word to anyone planning to respond. Choose your words very carefully, please. After Eight reads these boards, and he checks his list twice -- not because he's thorough, but because he usually nods off in the middle the first time.

Posted: 3/1/12 at 4:48pmI saw it on Broadway with OBC and I had a lot more fun than I expected. It depends how much the tickets are. I say if they're inexpensive enough, go for it. It's fun if nothing else.

Posted: 3/1/12 at 6:20pmVery good show. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. It is in a smaller theater than it was on Broadway so it is a more intimate feel. They scaled down the actual Broadway set and are using it at NWS. The entire cast is quite talented and the female lead does what has become my favorite version of "Fever".

Posted: 3/1/12 at 7:00pmI enjoyed the show a lot. The performances were solid, the staging was great, the story moved along. It helped that I like early rock and roll and knew almost all the songs, but my 22-year-old daughter liked the show too. Theater was very nice, smallish in size, great sight lines. The only thing I found a bit frustrating was that sometimes a verse of a song would be performed, and then dialogue took place, and then the song resumed. That's just a quibble though. Bonus: Roving waiters will serve you snacks and drinks (including a $5 sangria) right to your seat!

The audiences are loving this show. Basically for the music, as there's not much plot, but it's a good time. Almost like a concert. You can't help dancing in your seat!
Highly recommended.

Posted: 3/4/12 at 10:17am^^^I agree. Discounts are readily available at TKTS, on tdf.org, and goldstar.com (free to join). The goldstar tickets are $45. You can sit pretty much anywhere in the theater and have great views.

I would opt for something else. Not a great nite in the theatre in my opinion.

Go see something else. It's like watching paint dry with a soundtrack brought to you by the best impersonators money can buy.

Posted: 3/9/12 at 12:50amIn general, the show works so much better in a smaller off-Broadway version(probably why the Chicago version has been running so long). The dialogue scenes will make you want to pull your eyes out and stuff them in your ears...but when they sing, it's really something. The performances are amazing, the sound is fabulous, and the energy is infectious. So if you can get a discount, take advantage of it.

I agree that the show would work better in a smaller setting.
I enjoyed myself when I saw it on Broadway. From an objective standpoint, it's not great art or anything. But it's definitely quality entertainment.
