Her vocals actually sound better here than normal. I don't like her acting in this role. I don't think she's a good fit for Vanessa. She is a talented female though, I just don't enjoy her in this show.

I was thinking Corbin looked pretty damned good as well. Very natural.

Marcy? I'm not sure if TERRIBLE is the right word....but I wasn't impressed.

Seeing the show in two weeks with my 9 and 13 year old. Now I'm looking forward to it.

Watching this confirms 2 thoughts I had when I saw Corbin's first performance. He does a great job and I was correct in my dislike with Marcy. She is better on video but still not good and worse live.

Off topic, but I have shared an elevator with two different ensemble members of this show just this week. Strange.

And he does do a good job. I've seen the show twice both times with Marcy, and I thought she was fine. I suppose I just don't know any better.

It sounds like they slowed down some of the tempos just a TINY bit to make Usnavi's rapping a little easier to perform and for the audience to understand. Corbin is dong a good job with his diction - spitting out the words very clearly.

I'm loving this kid right now. Refreshing to see someone NOT trying to imitate Lin-Manuel as the others have. I loved Javier immensley but he WAS basically doing a 'Lin-Manuel', which really wasn't a bad thing, in all fairness.

Ok, first I wanna start off by saying that I Love Corbin. I thought he looked excellent and you could tell he was having the time of his life.

now......onto Marcy. I've been saying this for months on this board: Marcy is terrible as Vanessa. Marcy Harriel is about as exciting as going down the defective goods isle at Ross. Her 96,000 is boring and she manages to get drained out by everybody else. It won't be long now is utterly forgettable. It looked like she was barely trying in the club scene. Finally, her champagne has never had any emotional or spark in it. I don't think she understands that she is suppose to be pleading with him to stay.

Now I don't want this to seem like I'm out to get her. I was lucky enough to see Karen Olivo play Vanessa and for that I'm grateful. The last time I saw Marcy I thought she was boring and I was almost yawning. After watching the clips I can't say she has gotten any better with time.

I definitely can't wait to see Corbin as Usnavi and Janet as Nina.

Wow he was excellent! A nice fresh-take on the role.

Marcy is HORRIBLE.

And watching this video just makes me wish that Laura Benanti and Olga Merediz were nominated in separate years, because that truly is a fantastic performance.

Nice to see most people are liking this new Bleu Usnavi!
And you'll be glad to know: I agree with all of you.

HE IS ADORABLE, and a BALL OF ENERGY on that stage. A more than worthy addition to the cast. It was better than I thought it was going to look like. I mean, I thought he was going to be good, but I had no clue he was going to be THIS good!! Break legs, Corbin! Knock 'em dead!

Corbin seems a little stiff in those clips to me, but from what everyone's been saying, it sounds like he has already eased into the role real nicely and I hope he seems much more natural on stage when I see him in person. I like his singing voice.

And Marcy... jeez.

[One of] Marcy's problems is that she has no stage presence whatsoever, and gets lost entirely in the ensemble numbers .. even when there's a spotlight on her.

Also, and forgive me, I know it's in the eye of the beholder - but she isn't exactly the beauty of el barrio.

Didnt she come into the show in Sept/Oct of last year when Olivo left for WSS? I think her run has gone on long enough and perhaps her performances are beginning to reflect that. Hopefully the Adrienne Bailon rumors are true and she'll be taking over the role of Vanessa later this month, though without an official announcement they're probably just that..rumors.

(off topic)..Vanessa's dress is green in the club scene in the national tour (not red) which I think works better since Nina Lafarge's dress is red too.

Marcy is bad. Her high notes are much better though than her regular notes that most people can reach. I hope she gets replaced before I see it in April. Sorry if that makes me seem like a bitch, but I'm not sure I am able to sit through another performance of hers.
