The minute I saw this thread I instantly thought of Starlight Express. I heard this rumor, but during rehersal didn't someone role off into the orchestra pit?

i wouldnt doubt it!
some of the wicked injuries;
- shoshana bean ran clear off the stage (into the pit) once
- almost every fiyero has fallen off the rope swing
- carole shellye left because of the neck/back strain from the raked stage
- cheno's neck injury
- and need we mention the trap door
the fiddler revival had a nasty habit of people falling down left open trap doors

-Idina Menzel broke a rib during her last weekend on Broadway
-Stephanie Block got a back/neck injury during the rehearsals of Wicked

Um. Starlight Express - I took the Wicked tour and Anthony Galde (Swing; Wizard/Dillamond/Fiyero u/s) told a story about how he must have broke every bone in his body in Starlight. He said he once went into the manager's office cause he fell with his arm hanging downward and telling the manager that he needed some time off.
I'd think TARZAN would be high up there, what with the wires and swinging and all.
That's just what I was about to say. How can it have taken that long for Macbeth to get mentioned?
Not Broadway, but Lord of the Rings had injuries all the time. It was a very physical show, with all the fight sequences.
And of course any Cirque du Soleil show.
ill add my vote to Wicked because I can think of more than those listed above!

I only saw the London production of it so I don't know about all of the productions, but in London there WAS NO orchestra pit to fall into! It was covered. The orchestra was playing under the stage apron. If a performer fell off the stage he/she fell into the audience.
SKYSCRAPER certainly had its share. IIRC, it was the production that forced producers to get additioanl insurance for cast members who came in on flown scenery.
There were two falls in Starlight Express when I saw it, but the actors were fairly well padded up and they barely missed a beat. Though I can imagine that if there had been any slips during the races it would have been a very different matter...
Anything where actors are hunched, crawling, squatting or contricted for extended periods of time are ripe for repetitive motion injuries. The Disney musicals seem to be the one that treat performers the most inhumanely. It makes sense as Disney is only concerned with their bottom line. But I am sure that most of the folks in Tarzan and Lion King will be pretty jacked up after they are done with the shows. Also, wearing a teapot or some other restrictive constume for 3 hours can't be good for range of motion.
Les Miz with the revolving stage must have been a pain to get used to.
I'll second Peter pan as well.
I'll second (or third? whatever) Lion King. Did a backstage tour of the show with my drama class last November, and the chorus members were telling us how frequently people get injured- oh the horror stories.
I'm sure Starlight had its share. But to add to all the padding on the costumes. There were huge crash pads set up in each of the wings so no one would go running into the walls of the theatre.
aida had its share of soldiers falling off of the boat at the beginning of fortune favors the brave.
And I heard of one of the glindas falling out of her bubble once, from really high. Isn't she supposedly strapped in?

I've read about a lot of injuries or set mishaps with The Phantom of the Opera, mainly with the trap doors and the boat. Also, didn't Aaron Lazar get injured during Les Mis recently?
I immediately thought of Starlight Express when I read the title, also ! And though there is nothing funny about a performer's injury, I can't help but think, that, some of the accidents on this show had to be really amusing !
If a Glinda had fallen from her bubble she would be seriously injured or dead.
